Difference between 18W and Misses's 18?
Hello ladies,
So, what's the difference between an 18W and a Misses's 18? Is there any difference? Length-wise I usually get Petite, can I assume Petite means for shorties no matter what the size is?!
It's been so many years since I was able to shop "regular" sizes, I have no idea what I'm looking at. And, since I don't want to be buying lots of clothes at French prices all through this upcoming weight-loss year, I've been looking at sale items on-line to order and pick-up while I vacation in the US next week. I won't buy a lot, but I would like a couple pairs of pants in sizes all the way down to 16 so I'm set until Christmas when I visit the US again. And now you know everything! Thanks!
18W is closer to a 20-22 regular size. A regular 18 is closer to a 14W, but less room for the belly and the waist.
When I was in 18W, I weighted 230 lbs. When I got into an 18 regular, I weighed 200 lbs. 18W also was not too long for my 5'4" height while a regular 18 is so I use regular petites.
Remember to buy very little. You will be changing sizes every 2-3 weeks to start and later every month.
Oh, thank you very much! That's very helpful because we're the same height! So it's quite possible I'll be in a size 16 regular by the time Christmas comes around because that would be 84lbs loss in 8months. Nano tried to tell me this before but I called her a liar and didn't believe her
. I just can't believe this is possible, you know? Apologies Nan, oh me of little faith...!

Good morning,
I just bought a new pair of jeans from Wal Mart for $9.00 (16 petite). I would suggest to buy cheap since you will be dropping weight fast. I really needed a smaller size. My 24/26 were getting just too big. I always buy petite. I'm only 5' 3". I do think an 18W has more room than a Misses. Have a good day.

Thanks Sue! Another reason for me not to buy much is that I work from home, so I can get away with 2 pairs of pants of each size, so long as they are nice enough for me to be seen in public once in a while! My husband is going to miss his shirts while I get smaller, but he's got quite a stach that will fit me soon

I know what you mean. I'm home all the time so didn't see the need to buy clothes right away. My beloved sister's funeral was January 26. I had nothing to wear. I live in a "very small" town. No joke, we have a (one) Wal Mart and a K-Mart. No time to go out of town to shop so I got my sewing machine out and did some alterations on a jumper and a pair of dress pants. So now I can wear those in public for a while. It is amazing what a person can do when in need.......LOL
Just saw the weather report. We are to get 6 to 8 inches of snow today. Great, I already have cabin fever.
