Reactive hypoglycemia is not the reason your mother is regaining. She is regaining because her surgery failed her. Regain is very likely with almost all WLS types. Do your research before going under the proverbial knife. Make sure you read up on ALL the different WLS types, including Duodenal Switch.
Your statement about which WLS is less "risky" is also false. Your risk is directly linked to your choice of surgeon and your pre-op health. Choose a vetted surgeon who does MANY surgeries of the type you are having.

I'm a little slow in responding; it's hard to keep up with all the new posts people make. I'm glad it went well and hope all is still going well! Best wishes!

Sometimes it's hard to understand "why" someone doesn't support you but it may not be the reason you think. Maybe they can't show support because THEY are afraid of you changing , even if the change is good for you. They are used to you the old way; maybe they think your life will be so different that " you" will change and they can't cope with that.
Please spend more time with those that can support you now. NOW is YOUR time!
Blessings!!!!
I just spoke to the secretary at Dr Jorge Sosa's office. She was so nice and told me they would accept my insurance for the surgery. I have to attend a seminar next Thursday, but after that it won't be long until my surgery will be done. I am so excited. I hope to get the gastric sleeve. Can't wait for the seminar.
CONGRATS!!.. im glad everything went smoothly for you! Good luck on your journey
