Yes I liked Dr.Harberg too. My husband pcked up a liquid multvitamen fron GNC but the centrum may be cheaper maybe I will try it next time.I made some tea with splenda to help me with my water intake, the cough seemed a little better today. I start on soft foods Wednesday, I have been drinking from a sippie cup, is that what you used in the beginning? I feel pretty good my incision is still sore and I feel a little sore inside but I guess that will pass with time.

I didn't have to have one. My only instruction was no food or drink after midnight. If you were told to do it though, I'd go ahead...it might help you out later. Good luck with your surgery!

I was instructed to give my self an enema before surgery. do i have to? Is this the norm i havent eaten since 4 am monday morning and surgery is tuesday at 130 just finished drinking the nitrate whatever. any help would be appreciated in this.

Thanks Gloria! I had a nice day. I went out for dessert with my son in the evening. I am more excited about my 1 year WLS anniversary than I was about my birthday. Now that will be a day to celebrate. 
Can't wait to see what the next year brings.

HELLO-!!!! HAPPY TO BE HOME? GOOD LUCK. WE HAD THE SAME DR. I LOVE HIM. I USE CENTRUM KIDS CHEWABLE MULTIVITAMIN. THEY WORK VERY GOOD.
I ONLY DRINK WATER, SF POPSCILE, SF JELL-O,YOUGURT 3GR CARB. THEY COUGH WILL GO AWAY. HOT TEA LIPTON DIET TEA. HELPS WITH THE COUGH. E MAIL ME I WILL HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK.

Congratulations to you! Your surgery was the day before my birthday. I didn't have an NG tube (that I know of
) I use a children's chewable vitamin. Check with your surgeon to see what he recommends for you. Make sure that you get enough fluids in. You do not want to get dehydrated. It's a struggle trying to figure out how/what/when to eat. It takes some time and is mostly a learn by error kind of system.

I had my open VBG on 9/28/04, stayed in the hopital until Friday. The worst thing so far was the NG tube. I am home and keep coughing, will this stop soon. What is a good vitamin to use. I am on clear liquids until Wednesday, and I am not hungry at all so I am having a hard time drinking my 4 ounces an hour. I am surviving on popsicles and apple juice. I think I will try some crystal light to help me get my water in.

I had my surgery on 9-28-04, I am home now. I have coughing spurts through out the day , does this end, because it hurts and I don't want to bust my stitches. What is a good vitamen to take? I am on clear liquids and and am not feeling hungry at all, I really have to remember to try to drink 4ounces an hour until I start on food. Surviving on S/F popsicles and apple juice.
