Its just a different procedure... its not as dramatic as the bypass... but not as "easy" as the lap band

Hi Laura, I know you are getting close so I wanted to wish you all the best. Hope it goes well for you. I have lost 33 pounds (including pre-surgery weight loss too). Feeling pretty good, but still taking it easy as much as I can. Please let me know how you're doing. I think you have about a week to go, don't you? Take care, Kelley

I'm two weeks out and had a bad time with an egg this am. It wasn't pretty. I have reflux & a hiatal hernia repair so I do get some painful discomfort at times. Slow eating, slow chewing, small bites truly are key. I did much better tonight with some tuna being mindful of the above. My biggest problem is no real appetite or thirst. I've had to use tart lollipops to trick my tongue to thirst. Good luck.

Anyone remember when it's OK to start taking baths again? All my incisions are healed to scabs already & I'm 2 weeks out today. I just could really use a hot, soaking, relaxing bath. Long showers still wipe me out a bit.

Are you on a PPI? If you're not on something for acid reflux call your doctor. I have been on Nexium for years and even with it had extra acid reflux after surgery. But now am off it completely. Your stomach is still healing and will be for another month or more. Sip your fluids and eat very, very slowly, really small bites. Put your fork down between bites and chew, chew, chew.

Hi Lou, I am two weeks out today....yesterday I threw up the V8 I was drinking. I think it has to do with drinking too fast. Your insides are still healing up. They also told me that I would continue to have trouble with acid reflux. Many sleeve people have to go on Prilosec or similar med after the surgery. They say to take it slowly and time will be a big help.

I went through that "what if I'm making a mistake" mode too, but really think that my overall health will be so greatly improved, if I have a few bumps along the way, it is worth it. Already my knees feel a lot better! That's just one example. It did scare me too when I thought about it being permanent, but I also did not want to be fat forever. I have been struggling with my weight for at least 30+ years, always going up and down and gaining more and more and I realized this was my last chance!

I don't think you'll be sorry. The first week or two are somewhat rough, but not unbearable. You know that it's not forever too, so you can handle it.

I bet everything will fall into place for you soon with the administrative part of it. You'll see.  Your persistence is paying off!

I liked your ticker, so I made up one too! :)

Congrats on doing so well! I still haven't been able to get any response to the questions I sent. The office is on one of my routes to work so if I don't here something next week, I'll just stop by in person so they can't ignore me.

My surgery is exactly 3 weeks away. I'm just starting to freak out. Already into "is this really the right thing to do? This is PERMANENT. What if I'm making a mistake?" mode.

Sorry my account is such a pain to find - I don't know what the problem is but I've heard that before. Who are you on facebook? I'll track you down and send a request.
