Hi, Can you do dairy, such as cottage cheese and yogurt? Let`s see, what about chili, deli meat rolled up with cheese? Homemade chicken salad. Peanut butter. And if you get really desperate, try babyfood meat chased with applesauce. I am 3 years out and I originally had a hard time with solids also. Probably for the first 2 1/2 yrs. I am guessing I only got in 30 to 40 gms a day. But I did fine. I`m not totally convinced we really need that much protein. I have heard a woman only needs about 50 gm anyway. I would do the best you can and not worry too much. Good Luck.

Today is my one year anniversary and I want to thank all of you who wished me well. I am at goal weight but still have a few issues of eating at functions. Also think I am going to have to take peanut butter off my list because I tend to have a problem of eating too much of it. I just don't want to stretch out my pouch. Staying between 140 and 144. When I gett 144 I try to hang back a little. This problem with control is a problem I guess you have to work with all your life. But again I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

hello all.. well.. I had surgery a year ago..lost 90lbs todate.. feel great but still having issues getting in protein.. Solid protein doesn't quite agree with me.. if I can get in an ounce of chicken i'm lucky.. seems like ground beef or anything ground is okay.. but i'm getting sick of it.. beans are good and cheese.. I can't do any type of protein shake..I've tried almost all out there and due to severe allegies I can't take them.. asthma, hives, etc.. can't do protein bars either.. or soy milk or anything with whey.. which leaves me little options for protein.. so I need ideas!!! IDEAS!!! HELP! so Ladies and Gentlemen.. give me so protein building ideas that I can use.. thanks

The only time I drink carbonated beverages is when I have something stuck in my pouch.. a little tip.. coca cola works wonders for getting stuff to disintergrate rather quickly from your pouch.. which in my opinion is reason enough not to drink it..

Topic: surgery tomorrow
Hello everyone! Well tomorrow is my big day. For weeks it feels like my emotions have been on a roller coaster, going from very excited to very nervous. I still find that I'm asking myself if I've done everything that I can to do this without surgery. What makes me think that I can do it this time when I have had so many failures in the past? I want so bad to be the the thin person on the outside that I know I am on the inside. Someone told me today that "if you live your life by the yard it could be hard but if you live it by the inch it's a cinch" I think that will be my new motto. Tammy

Hi Kim I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question. You said "but I decided against LapBand since I didn't want to have control over the band and size of my pouch....I thought I might cheat on that. So, VBG it was.". I have read other people saying the same thing but I guess I don't understand. Isn't the size of the pouch determined by where on the stomach the band is placed? I thought the adjustment on the lap band is done by adjusting the size of the stoma not the pouch. But more importantly how can somebody adjust their own lap band? I understand it can only be done by a surgeon injecting saline into the band using a floroscope. I assume a doctor wouldn't do that if it wasn't in your best interest.
