Topic: RE: Pain!!
Hi Tammy! I am 2wks post op and I had the diarrhea for about a week after my surgery. I was told it was a combination of the liquid diet and the anesthesia. Thankfully it went away. I had a kind of tight feeling in my chest when I would drink water or anything else for that matter and found if I took small sips I wouldn't get this feeling. Sometimes I forget and think I am my old self and take larger sips and bites and this pain comes up to remind me. Hope you feel better soon and good luck!

MARISOL,
I DRINK MY PROTEIN. 3 /32 OZ. BOTTLE A DAY. ONE IN THE AM, ONE WHEN I WORK OUT AND FINAL ONE BEFORE I GO TO BED. IT STOP'S ME FROM EATING THE WRONG THINGS. I USE THE SYNTRAX NECTAR PROTIEN FUZZY NAVEL. NO CARB NO FAT MIX IT WITH CRYSTAL LIGHT.
TASTE SO GOOD. I GOT ABOUT 4 DIFFRENT SAMPLE. I LIKED THE FUZZY NAVEL THE BEST. 23GR OF PROTEIN A SCOOP.
I MIX 2 SCOOPS IN A 32OZ BOTTLE MIX WITH CRYSTAL. LIGHT. I GET ABOUT
66 OZ. OF PROTEIN.
THAT'S WITH OUT THE FOOD. IT REALLY WORK.

Topic: Pain!!
Hello everyone,
I had my surgery on Wed. and I would have to say that I'm doing pretty good. Although there are a couple of things that I have some questions about. First off, last night I stated having diarrhea. I suppose that is nothing unsual because all I had been taking in was liquid. My Dr. did say that I could start on pureed food today and I was going to hold off on that for another day or so because it made me a bit nervous. But with the diarrhea I thought it might be a good idea to get in something other than liquids. So this morning I had A scrambled egg---no problems. But what I'm wondering is did anyone else have a problem with loose stools, and how long did it last?
Also I'm having some PAIN everytime I swallow, even WATER. It only lasts for a few seconds but I wonder if I'm taking in too much at a time but it happens with only sips of water. I'm sure that it will get better in time it would just help to hear that it happened to others.
Thanks for listening
Tammy

Topic: RE: Confused on Surgery Types Menu
Hi Toni,
The Main Message board is used by everyone with the majority of people being RNY'ers. Here is the link to the main message board... http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/messageboard/
As RNY is the surgery the majority of patients receive OH has seperated out message boards for other individual surgeries such as VBG, Lapband, etc. Those are the message boards you see listed under surgery type.
I am not familiar with the Fobi Pouch surgery. But hope the other info gives you some clarification.

Topic: RE: Has any one had to take Fosamax or Actonel?
Hello Allyson -
I didn't see any replies, so I wanted to check up on you and see how things were going. I know how scary something like this can be. I'm a newbie so I don't have any advice other than to talk to your doctor about it.
I know that if someone had some good advice for you they would reply, so hang in there.

I'm new here and I've learned so much from all of you. Your posts are so encouraging and inspiring. Everything shared is something learned, and this website helps us learn from each other. I feel right at home with you.
Questions
I notice that there is a surgery type for all but the RNY listed. Is it because it's combined with VBG?
Also, the Fobi Pouch GB is something new for me (Seems like the name of a doctor). Is there a website to give me guidance on it?
Thanks for your help
Toni
