Topic: RE: Hair Loss?
Hello,
I had my surgery on November 30th and my hair is falling out too. Make sure to get your protien in and brush your hair like as if you were a baby. Those two thing will help, however.....I lost some hair after I had my baby and my doctors (warned me first, thank god) told me it will go away as long as it is not a protien problem. I too have had to cut my hair short, because of all the hair around my house. My hair got into everything. Good Luck and great weight loss.

Hi Mary,
I am 4 months out and I am losing hair too. it's not really noticeable yet, but my brush is always full of hair and I find strands all over my house and clothing. I knew it would happen, but its not too bad. I would recommend Pantene full and thick shampoo and conditioner. It does give the appearance of fuller hair. Some say vitamins work too, but some say they don't. I would say try it for yourself and see Never fear though cause it will grow back.
You are doing great with the weight loss 49 pounds is great!!! Keep up the good work!
Hugs,
Sara

Topic: RE: Is almost everyone having the RNY surgery instead???
I had the VBG 6 years ago, at the time i did want the RYN because from all I had read about the two surgeries the Ryn's lost more weight, faster, and kept it off .. My doctor would not do the RYN so i had VBG, now six years later iam sch. for revision surgery Feb. 2.. Iam finally having my RYN. Sure I lost weight.. I lost 100 pounds in about 6 or 7 months with the VBG, I weight 315 at the time... Today I have been Struggling to stay around 225-230, i did get up to 240 last summer... I never got below 200 pounds... the weight lose stop after about 9 months and slowly i started to regain, at this rate i will be back up to 300 pounds again in a few years.. well Iam not going to let it happen.. Iam having the RYN... The problem is your pouch stretches... and the hungry pains come back again.. i can eat a ton of junk food, potatoe chips, popcorn, candy, soda, I can even eat 3 or 4 slices of pizza.. i can eat a whole meal then eat again 2 hours later.. just like the old days.. i had the scope test done, were they look inside your stomach.. which i need before i could have the RYN done, well the dr. said my tiny pouch isnt so tiny anymore.. it did hold less than 2 oz. now it holds about 12-14 oz. It does and Will stretch in time.. and You will learn what you can eat and eat alot of... things that you can chew up fine.. like Pretzels, popcorn... chips.. will go right thru the valve between your pouch and reg. stomach... and you can eat and eat.. Oh yea Bread is still hard for me to eat... No problem thru if its toasted good, same with Bagles.. toast them and i can eat them, with plenty of cream cheese... people say Its a Tool, its what you make of it, Its your Responsibility to Eat Right... Well if i could control what I eat, Eat Right.. Ect... I would have never been up to 300 pounds in the first place.. I can't ,..Why do I think the RYN will Work for me then? Because when they do the bypass part you do not absorb 1/3 of the calories you eat.. and your stomach is not just staple like VGB its cut and seperated.. and if you eat the sweets and fats.. You get sicker than heck.. I need that severe control , I will be forced to eat right and lose weight.. I need to lose 100 pounds.. and I will, I would be there now if my dr. did the RYN in the first place... My new doctor will not do VBG he said they fail.. maybe not in the first two years but he sees so many ppl that have gained all there weight back and more.. he was so surprised after 6 years i was 230 and not over 300 again..

Hi Mary,
I'm just two months out. I do hear that hair loss happens, but it will all grow back. I have yet to experience it. They say it's really important that you get all your protein in.
I think 49 pounds is great for three months! Congrats on your loss.
At our support group some women talked about asking their stylists for a special shampoo that added extra body, and got a cut that would be more flattering for fine hair.
Keep up the great work!

Topic: Hair Loss?
Hello everyone
How is everyone doing? I am doing good now other than my hair falling out. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and how long will it last. I just started noticing it about 2 weeks ago. I went out and bought some Vitamins for hair, but I don't know whether or not that will work.
p.s. I am down 49lbs in 3 months and I was wondering if that was a good weight loss.
Thanks alot for your help!!!
Mary
