Topic: RE: 6 months post op and only 58 lbs down

"Only"?! Fifty-eight pounds is impressive. If I felt bad about this and was staring down a cruise I would probably sit down with myself and reevaluate why I "need" to lose a specific amount in order to enjoy a cruise. Be kind to yourself; the better care you take of you, the better your weight loss and (more importantly) other life stuff will go. Part of taking care of yourself, I suspect, might involve keeping track of what you eat and when, and how much exercise you get.

I'm only at month four-ish and I've lost 42 pounds since the day of surgery--so not far off from what you've accomplished; about ten pounds every month. I suspect your rate of loss is pretty normal? Perhaps someone with more experience than me can weigh in.

::hugs:: I'm sorry you're feeling down.

Topic: RE: Pain post surgery?

I didn't find the pain at the surgery site very bad, and I have a very low threshold of pain. They sent me home with the good drugs, so I was feeling great. Once I was done with the narcotics I think I only ever needed a Tylenol twice, many three times.

THAT SAID the worst pain I have EVER experienced was in the hospital the morning after surgery. It had nothing to do with the incisions or anything like that. It was gas pain that took up residence in my shoulder and when I tried to lean backwards for a CT scan, WHOA MY GAWD. It was like someone had my clavicle between the blades of a pair of garden shears, and was bearing down. Some simethicone and pacing around the exam room eventually made it bearable.

Overall, pain wasn't much of an issue at all. Occasional gas pain at home for the first couple weeks, including off-and-on discomfort in my shoulder--but really, nothing bad. And the pains in my belly were way less bad than my worst menstrual cramps.

Not sure what you mean about the holes healing. I can't remember how long it was before the steri-strips fell off or were pulled off. I wasn't really aware of the incisions; every time I've been back for a follow-up appointment, my surgeon or the nurse practitioner has remarked that mine healed well.

Good luck! You're smart to be planning ahead. :)

So excited for you, and you will find great support on this Message Board!  You have an excellent surgeon for sure!  Maybe make a post asking to find other Dr. C patients to connect with?

Topic: Big Train Fit Frappé: If you drink Big Train Fit Frappé please read, money saving tip

Hey folks if you drink Big Train Fit Frappé I found a way to get them cheaper and more servings then they come in the tub.

Most of us buy the 2.26 lb Container and getting  38 services per container for 8 fl oz for 10 grams of protein and 19 services per container for 16 fl oz for 20 grams of protein and paying 45.00 plus shipping if you ordering from Big Train and some other places and free shipping from Amazon

Last week I called Big Train and asked them if they make a bigger  container of and they said they don't, how ever they do make it for the food service industry in a 3 lbs bag and he gave me a website of a company that carries it. He gave me  supply village and here is a link with all the 3 lbs bags of Big Train Fit Frappé

http://www.supplyvillage.com/?subcats=Y&status=A&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&search_performed=Y&q=+Fit+Frapp%C3%A9&x=0&y=0&dispatch=products.search

The 3 lbs bags  sale for $34.49 plus $12.49 for shipping for a total of 46.98

Now here is the secret that big train told me about...  the 3 lbs bags are 25 services per container for 8 fl oz for 10 grams of protein and 50 services per container for 16 fl oz for 20 grams of protein

I placed a order with supply village and it came with in 4 days and they even send a scoop with it but Big Train says of they do not send a scoop Big Train will send one for free to us.

So you are getting few more servings for a cheaper price and the best part with supply village is that you do not have to be in the food service industry as they will sale to any one.   I placed my order online...

Thanks Brian
