Ulcers...yes. Carafate is now my buddy. For years I just grabbed anything OTC I could get my hands on but working with the new surgeon for (hopefully!) RNY conversion he has me on Carafate and it helps. However, my stomach and pouch show irritation during EGD but no active ulcers and I have passed two H-Pylori tests. Yet they still tell me I had ulcers. Now I know I also have a growth (benign) in my stomach. When I went to the new surgeon's support group the members told me that post-op stomach pain is common. I wasn't warned of that at the time I had my VBG. (not that it would have deterred me)
Hope your Carafate will continue to help you more as you go along,
Molly
