I am a hair freak! I am a hair model, and I have been so concerned about preventing hair loss. It has even hinders me from having surgery, and when considering surgery dictates my surgery options. Any advice you can give?
What can I tell you. I had significant hair loss that didn't stop for 9 mos. My hair got so thin you could see straight through it. My daughter who had bariatric surgery had no hair loss at all. My doctor says you have to take in at least 66 grams of protein to prevent this. So I started with the shakes and everything. Hair has thickened up and is doing fine now. Don't know if the protein helped or it was just time for it to grow back but if I had it to do all over again I would start with high protein.

Thanks for the information. I currently am doing all I can now, so that it will be an easier transition when I do have surgery.
Hi Indie,
I am in the hairloss phase right now. It started at around 4 and a half months and I am almost 7 months out. It's not so bad really. I can't really tell except that my brush is full of hair. I started with a lot of hair anyway so lossing a little hasn't really made a difference to me. Also I wouldn't trade having this surgery for anything. I am down 90 pounds and loving life!!!!
Big hugs,
Sara

For some people remember- the hair loss isn't taht great- menaing they don't lose a vast amount of hair.
I noticed that I would lose some extra hair when I washed or when I brushed my hair - but it went away once I started increasing my proteins.
When it comes to additives for smoothies- try adding lecithin powder and protein powder to smoothies. they both help promote regrowth.
