I am tossing everything up. I am so hungry in between meals that when I do eat, even if I try to chew slowly, I toss it up. My stomach is always upset, because I am either hungry or upset from tossing. Things that I have been able to eat before are coming up for no reason. Does anyone have any ideas? I have also just broke a 7week plateau. So, I don't really want to eat and when I do I toss it. This can't be a healthy way to start out. Any advise would help. I just can't seem to feel right. I spent two weeks in January sick as a dog- turns out I had contracted some kind of gastro- virus that was keeping me sick. Have you talked to your doctor? When I went to mine (gp not my surgeon) he suggested I try taking Gravol for the nausea. I could only stomache half-tablets- but at least I was able to keep a small anount of stuff down.... good luck with it. -kathy

Hi Heather, I would suggest trying some liquids again like soup. Maybe that would be easier on your tummy. I do think you should go to your doctor to discuss this further. There may be a medical reason for your puking. I have had some episodes of vomitting, but its usually from overeating or eating something too heavy. I am only 4 1/2 months out and I am still learning what works and what doesn't. It really is a process of trial and error. I hope you find the answers you are looking for and that you get through this rough patch soon Hugs, Sara 356/282/175

Hi Heather, I am 3 1/2 years post-op. But when I was about 2 weeks I ate some chicken that made me throw up and my doctor said to get on liquids for a day or so and let the stomach settle down. I probably threw up at least once a week for the first year. Try to take it easy when doing that cause you don`t want to interrupt that staple line. My stomach has adapted and I can eat anything without getting sick. So enjoy this first year and take advantage of your "honeymoon period".

Hi Heather, I was also the Queen of Tossing. I think for the first 3 months I tossed up EVERYTHING I ate. I was super sensitive to any increased pressure in my pouch. I always craved orange juice, milk and broth during this time. I think it was the only way I could get an nutrients in. The other thing is to make sure you are taking your vitamins. One thing that I remember early on was if I could just get myself to burp the nauseous feeling would sometimes go away. I would first try walking right after eating to encourage the burps. If that failed another tactic I utilized was to lay down after eating. I think it was all pressure related for me. For me personally the sensitivity to my new stomach only went away with time. I am now 1.5 years out. I would say within the last 2 months I have noticied a significant difference in how food sits in my pouch now. I can actually eat without having severe to moderate discomfort. In the end I assume that my pouch is now just more "broken in". Not really sure.
