Carbs?????
So I was wondering about everyone's views on carbs. Since the VBG is different from the RNY I was wondering if the majority of VBGers feel that carbs are evil or if you take a more balanced approach to the diet. I eat mostly protien, but I do endulge in carbs on occasion. I just do it in moderation. I have had some ice cream and some chips around the holidays and I actually did plateau for a week, but I think it might have been the overall calorie increase rather than the type of food I was eating.
What are your views on carbs? I hope to get a lot of different op[inions on this subject

Hey Sara
I don't think carbs are evil, I have actually endulged myself on a couple of different occasions. I have a taste of pasta or rice or chips. But it's mostly when I dine out. I'll have a taste of my friends' entrees. They don't mind. I agree that it was the calorie increase that caused you to plateau.
I have a question. Have you experienced a loss of appetite? I had a 2 week spell where I didn't really wanna eat anything and even the thought of food made me cringe. I had popcorn and string cheese eveyday and didn't lose a pound, but I know it was because I wasn't eating my protein and that my body had basically gone into starvation mode and held on to the fat.

Hi Jenelle,
Thanks for your reply
To answer your question...I really still don't have an appetite. I eat on a schedule to make sure I get enough protein and calories to keep myself losing. I do get hungry occassionally, but mostly I am not. I notice that large amounts of food on a plate makes me feel sick just looking at it and its crazy because I used to eat huge plates of food. I think my brain finally realizes that I can't eat like that any more. I can say I am happy those days are over

Sara
