Protein Shake Tip

Okay...maybe you guys already know this, but I just discovered it. I was originally repulsed by the protein shake I got, even with 6 packets of Equal in it. But then I started drinking it in water bottles or sport type bottles, so I could take it to work, and noticed it wasn't so bad. The secret that I found was if I couldn't smell it while I was drinking it, it wasn't that bad! I had first tried it in an open cup at home, and it was just ooky. Artificial sweetner and lots of ice help me out too. Anyway, just a tip. And, I've been losing weight faster since drinking them. I highly recommend them, and the more you drink them, the more you get used to them. ~Kim Open VBG 9/1/04 -36

Hi kim. Thanks for the tip. I have a really hard time with the protein too, but what I've tried that works best for me is mixing the protein powder in with fat free pudding or the unflavired unjury in with sugar free jello. Nearly tasteless and I get all of my protein in. I also really like the Atkins Advantage shakes, they are delicious (chocolate delight) but quite expensive. $7 for 4 cans and 20-21g of protein per can. I usually have those on the weekend when I'm out and about or after a workout. Hope you find these tips helpful. Good luck

Hi, Have you or anyone else tried Weigh****chers "Smoothie"? I tried the creamy chocolate and its very good. It has 190 calories with non-fat milk, total carbs 13 g. fiber 4 g. sugers 5 g. and protein 15 g. How does this compare to other protein drinks? I am thinking of starting to drink them for the evening meal.

Haven't tried the smoothie....but....that seems very low in protein. I try and drink a protein shake a day....and you can find them with 200-220 calories and 40-45 grams of protein. Granted, they may not taste as good, but with artificial sweetner, they aren't bad. I've tried GNC, and some others, and have heard ISOPURE is great. Usually the non-chocolate varities taste better.

Thanks for this - another thing I have done is to try to get it over with early in the day - then I know my protein is ok for the day. I had VBG open on 10-4. How are you doing on weight - I am older than you, 38, but I have done amazing on weight loss already and I wondered when you saw it slow down.
