HOW IS EVERYOME?
HOW IS EVERY ONE? NO ONE WANTS TO POST TODAY? IT HAS BEEN A GOODDAY. I HAD TO WORK 16 HRS TODAY. WE HAVE BEEN REALLY BUSY AT THE HOSPITAL. I HAD A GOOD WEEK LOST 4 POUNDS THIS WEEK. I WENT OUT TO SHOP MY CLOTHS ARE TO LARGE. I BOUGHT A FEW PIECES THE 1ST OF AUGUST ALL TO BIG. LOT MORE INCHES THAN POUNDS. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY ARM. THEY LOOK GOOD. I CAN WHERE A SLEVELESS DRESS. I REALLY WORK OUT ABOUT 1 1/2 HOUR FOR 5 DAY EVERY WEEK. IT IS WORTH IT.

Just thought I'd post just to let you know there are people lurking in the wings... lol I do have a question for you. How long before you were able to "work out"? My doc told me to walk but didn't mention about going to the gym. I do have a membership but don't want to go back too soon. I had my surgury on Sept 8th. Lisa

Woo Hoo on the 4 pounds AND the sleeveless dress!! I am impressed! You should expect spectacular results with your committment to your new healthy lifestyle. Isn't it great to get to purchase new SMALLER clothing?? Life is good. I remember buying stuff "just because it fit". Didn't much matter what it looked like... I was just happy to find something large enough. Now I actually have a full length mirror in my house. Hadn't had one of them for years. Life is good... God is great! We have all received a great gift... life!

I'm doing great here! Getting ready for my big 5 mile race next weekend.
Working 16 hours must have been a tough day for you! I never have to work overtime.
GREAT job on your weight loss! 4 pounds in a week!! I think I'm jealous.
I need to get motivated to work out more...I walk for an hour 5 days a week, but I have only been going to the gym twice a week. Today I'm SO sore because I ran 4 miles on Saturday.
Lisa- I was able to work out after about 2 months. I started by walking and then added swimming.

How are you doing? Still preping for the race I would assume? There is a new post on the board about a cruise coming up in September 2005. I requested information about... who knows... maybe I will go! I would not have ever done something like that pre-op but maybe I can post-op?? I would bet that the food menu would be tailored to WLS patients. It might be a nice way to celebrate 2 years post-op.
I lost 6 pounds this last month. I only had two losing weeks. I have not been exercising regularly (read: at all). I really need to get a grip on myself and step it up. I really want to be down to 210 by my 1 year anniversary. That means I need to lose 9 pounds in the next month. I will not make that goal without exercising. Could you come up here to Minnesota and kick me in the ass?? Would that be asking too much?? THINKING OUT LOUD ... "Now if I could just find someone to chase me around the block a few times with a stick that might help." JK
Time to get serious...

Hi Sharon!
I've been working my butt off to get ready for the race...but I'm really mad! I've been doing good on the diet, no sugar, low cal, low fat. Yesterday, I stayed under 1000 calories, drank over 2 quarts of water, walked 4 miles, and GAINED 4 POUNDS! What's up with That??? It's not part of PMS, so I dont know What's going on. The good thing is that being mad makes me want to work harder.
I saw that post about the cruise. I doubt I'll ever be able to do anything like that. Well, not until the kids are grown. I have a hard time getting a sitter for a Saturday night, let alone to go on a vacation. Even if I had the money, which I don't. I truly enjoy my little 'mini breaks' on the weekends though. I've met some great gals through this site and we go out dancing and singing on the weekends.
Exercising in the winter in Minnesota must be Hard! Just think about how that fact will make your victory so much sweeter!
Do you belong to a gym? I joined 24 hr fitness when they had a special $17 per month. Anyone can afford that. The trick is to find something that is fun for you. I LOVE walking up (a VERY steep hill) to the park every day during lunch. It's so beautiful there. Don't like walking? Find a pool. Not a swimmer? learn racquetball. We even have an adult dodge ball league here! Don't know what you like? Try everything! One of the gals on the local board scuba dives!
'With a stick' LOL. I will come to Minesota and kick your behind if I have to... but I will NOT be happy about freezing my arse off. They messed up my internal thermostat when they did my WLS so I don't tolerate cold well at All.
