well it is 8 weeks today and I have lost 33lb . I have only lost 4 lb in 3 weeks I have been walking and working out with a walk a way the lb tape its the 1 mile tape but I think it is time to go to the 2 mil tape and to do it 4 or 5 times a week I guess that will be my gole for next week I will start on sat . I hope I will stick to it. I am very disapointed I have been counting every cal and keeping to 800 to 1300 and it seem like my pouch is big around 8 oz and the waight loss is so slow so I guess I have to get moving I guess there is a reson for everthing but I am disapointed that I could not get the rny and or at least a smaller pouch but I must learn to work with what I got and get moving more I hate it ! but I guess it works wheter you like it or not I just have to make it a habit. allyson

Good afternoon Allyson, Let me help you get your weight loss into a perspective that sounds wonderful.... 8 weeks = 56 days // 33 pounds divided by 56 days = .58 of a pound per day! Did you realize how wonderful this is?? At 8 weeks out you are currently losing .58 of a pound per day when you average it out! Girlfriend that is GREAT. Congratulations to you. (PS at -113# at 10 months out my weight loss averages out to .37 of a pound per day! And I think I am doing great!) You are also exercising consistently which helps build muscle mass which eats away fat cells... so good for you! I understand that it is tough when the weight loss slows down or stops for a period of time. As long as you continue doing the work suggested by your surgeon you will continue to lose weight. I am sure waking up with VBG vs. RNY was a disappointment for you. But if you are able to stay away from sugar you can be successful with VBG as well. This is the hand you have been dealt. It may not be the one you wanted but it is what you received. Do some soul searching and find a way to embrace this opportunity that you have been given. One of the most important life lessons I have learned is... "You might as well say nice things to and about yourself as you are the one person you can never get away from". Smile Allyson... congratulate yourself... you are doing a great job after WLS! Best Regards, Sharon Chute -113# // 10 months out

Wow I think you are doing great! I am pre-op and I have been going to the gym and busting my butt for 12 weeks and eating right and only lost 6 pounds total! So you can see that the surgury must do something a half pound a week verses your half pound a day. I can't wait until next week when I can be on the loosing side and hopefully loose all this weight I need to loose. Keep up the great work. (just wondering why you think your pouch is 8 oz) My doc said the pouch is about 1-2 oz. Just wondering. Take care, Lisa S.
