I had a similar pain, kind of a burning, on my left side, just above the waist.  It puzzled me too, because it wasn't really near the incisions.  If that's what you're feeling, all I can tell you is that it'll go away in a couple of weeks.  I never figured out exactly what it was from, just figured they probably cut a nerve somewhere that affected that spot.  If you're still concerned, call your doctor.  I'm sure they've dealt with this before and can put your mind at ease.  Best wishes to you in your recovery!

Usually 2 weeks out most patients get a pain on the left side. It is because your stomach is on the left side. your body has to heal inside and out and basically the insides are beat up from surgery. It is normal and can take a few weeks to go away depending on the person.

I just had the VBG 4/16/10 and thought I did something to myself because of the pain. I guess everyone is different! The only thing that has helped me tremendously was ice!
