Topic: RE: Any VSG Patients here from Hampton Roads area?
I plan on having the VSG done on Aug. 22 if everything with all my pre op goes as planned. My doc is Dr. Adams of Bon Secours. How is your sleeze working for you??? Any info would be great. I know they said this is a fairly new surgery type and my docs office just started offering it recently. After looking through the others I am glad they started offering this one because it seems like the best fit for me. Guess god always has some type of plan because I was scheduled for RNY back in March but had to cancel because I lost my insurance. Now that I have insurance back they offer this surgery which wasn't an option before. I'm excited to say the least lol :) Take care, Kerry

Topic: Any VSG Patients here from Hampton Roads area?
I was banded 1/09 and am considering a revision to the sleeve since being recently diagnosed with my second band slip. My weightloss has been great and I am now trying to avoid any regain as I go through my second phase of a complete unfill. Would love to chat with someone local that has been through the VSG surgery!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks so much, I will go today to Walmart and buy some. I really have to do something, the ready made Beleive proteins are so expensive but greater than that is the 30.00 shipping fees they are glass bottles.
I am 5 yrs. out and have 10 pounds I do so much want to lose. Feel out of control with eating some times and before I really mess up I want to get gback on track.
Thanks again.

I have never used these. My doc had me using Breakfast Essentials, & Slim-Fast High Protein. I am 2 years out now and I use Body Frotress Powder at Wal-Mart. 1 scoop is about 26 g or protein. Skim milk, a little instant coffee, ice and the chocolate gets my morning going. The vanilla with the orange 0cal drink, (same place) 1/4c skim milk, few drops of lemon juice,1/2c water and ice. This makes a nice afternoon treat. Makes me think of an Orange Julius! I am in King George.
Topic: Richmond WLS Graduates Support Group
I wanted to inform the locals in Richmond (or any other surrounding area residents willing to travel) that I have started up a weight loss support group for 3 years+ post-op graduates with our esteemed Mary D. by my side. I’m hosting the group through www.meetup.com. The group can be found at http://www.meetup.com/RVAWLSGrads. Please contact me privately if you are unfamiliar with Meetup and need help accessing the site, setting up a profile and joining the group.
Meetup is JUST what it sounds, a place where interest groups join together and create “meetups", aka events, to join together with like minded individuals. I’m an Asst-Organizer for two other groups on Meetup and find it to be a wonderful way to network locally and meet new people.
Mary and I have discussed for years that there was a lacking need in the Richmond area for a support group geared for long term post op and the struggles we have as compared to pre-surgery or newly post op patients. I hope to see a great response and to begin, I will be hosting the support group out of my home. As we get our membership numbers up, we will be offering all kinds of different meetups to include other meeting locations around Richmond, group exercise activities, social time on the town for eats, coffee, etc. ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME. SO CONTACT ME TO GET INVOLVED!
