Hi Jack- Hang in there.. I am one week behind you and I feel everything you are feeling. Even though I have a supportive hubby and kids... Its still not exactly the same as those who are in your shoes. I think we are going to be just fine!

If any of you are up to it, I would love to have an unofficial support group meeting at a local business such as Starbucks or a bookstore. Just so we can get to know each other, exchange recipes, or just share our experiences. Just let me know if anyone is interested.

You thinking about gastric bypass or lap band.  Commonwealth did mine in Sep 06 but I had open RNY and my surgeon (Hutcher) has retired.  They'd still be my choice if I had it to do again, and lapriscopically.  Hang in there, you are doing the hardest part deciding.

I'm so glad to see there are others in the Fort Lee area.  I live on Fort Lee and am going through the process of getting approved.  I was approved in Cali but then my hubby got orders and I decided to hold off b/c i wanted to be with my surgeon for at least a year post op!  I am going to Commonwealth Surgeons in Richmond.  so far i've only went to the seminar and the initial visit with the nurse practitioner.  I have 3 more visits with my PCM for the required 6 and I still have a few other appts i need to do before approval.  Again, i'm so glad to see other Fort Lee area people.  I've felt like I was in this all alone.

Hi all, I had my bypass in Florida a few years ago, and I have since moved to Woodbridge, VA.  I have gained about 20 pounds and I'm feeling off track. I have never gone to a support group before, but I was hoping to connect with some others and make some positive changes.  Anyone know of a good group in my area?
