Good morning beautiful.  Glad you had such a wonderful day yesterday.  Mine was pretty awesome, too.  Got a lot done inside then also moved outside.  Claire sat outside with my dad while I went to town in the yard.  I am hoping to get more done today but I am not counting on it.  I have a meeting in just a bit and I am struggling to get going.  I am not feeling well and just want to crawl back in the bed.  My throat is scratchy and I think I may be getting sick.  :(  If I don't feel better then I will crawl back in the bed when I get home.  I can not afford to get sick right now!

Good Morning!  Oh my day was fabulous yesterday.  We got into spring cleaning mode.  Opened up the doors, lit the candles and cleaned away, then we moved outside and did some stuff in the garage.  Definitely feeling accomplished after all we did.

Not much on the books for today.  Work of course then home for a night with the girlies & AI.  A nice walk and/or bike ride in there I am sure.  Hope you all have a great one!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!  I am looking forward to moving on over on the losers bench to make room for you!  I, too was originally denied.  Several years later I was in a different situation and tried again and was approved within days and now almost five years later I have lost 264 lbs, had a beautiful baby girl and have lost all the baby weight I gained and am healthier than ever.  I am hoping to have my first round of plastics by the end of this year!  Getting my finances in order before I even get my hopes up!

Topic: FINALLY APPROVED AFTER 2 YEARS!!!!!!

I began this journey in March of 08'.  I have Tricare Prime insurance and got my referrals and started a bariatric program in NH.  After six months in the program, I found out I was denied for surgery.  The surgeon filed an appeal and was denied again.  Then we moved back to VA in July of 09' and I started the process all over again.  Started one program and found out Tricare made them do things that others did not.  I found a new program and started in January of this year.  My paperwork was submitted last Wednesday and I found out first thing this morning that Tricare approved me.  This is truly the greatest day of my life.  I now see the light at the end of the tunnel.  For anyone out there who has been denied, I just have to say to keep on trying.  Be persistent.  My surgery is scheduled for March 23rd.  That will be the first day of the rest of my life.  I used to post on the NH message boards but now that I'm back in VA I thought I'd start posting here.  I've been reading the VA message boards for a few months, but never felt the need to share until today.  I can't believe we almost decided to pay out of pocket and now everything will be covered.  So overjoyed.  So ecstatic.  Thanks for letting me share.

She just had surgery 2.5 weeks ago (and she had a complication) so she's not online much right now.  I'll point her over here for you or you can look up her profile and send her a pm.

I'm assuming you can't afford to go to the doc because you're without insurance right now?  I'd call my PCP and explain this and see if they have lower fees for self-pay patients (some do).  You could also call around.  You really need to get your lab work done regularly to make sure that you're not deficient in anything, your protein levels are good, etc.  You don't have to pay up front, but can make small monthly payments if needed.

Good luck!

Welcome back and absolutely shake things up.  Also, the last 10-15 pounds are the hardest to get off for most post ops.  Where the bulk of the weight just comes off quickly the last bit you usually have to work hard for.  Protein shakes are really for life as far as I am concerned.  I am almost 5 years post op and I still drink 3-4 shakes every day.  Vitamins are also for life as we don't fully absorb anything anymore.  And for the exercise change up your routine frequently so you don't get bored and so you work every muscle group.
