as you are loosing weight without proteins you will burn muscle.  You need strong muscles for your structure.  Increasing protein with help with weight loss.  

You are working out and do not want to get dehydrated.   Fluids is really how you loose weight.   not thru waste.    

Either one of these items could put you into a stall.    Increase both and you may see a difference.

why did working out slow your weight loss i thought it would only help burning calories and tone muscles..

ok... ill try anything.. but can you explain why i need to up my protein... i guess i feel dumb asking this but why is protein so important if im also eating fish and salmon chicken etc...  and why do i need to up my protein,..  and the drinking fluids does that just keep me feeling full?

Beth   I have found that working out has slowed the weight loss BUT BUT has kept my sizes go down.    Sounds like you have a keen sense of self awareness.   


Try upping your protein suppliments and increase this time of year your fluids.    Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing,

Topic: Monday checkin On track

 Hello everyone.. .. well today started off alittle rough i had my 13 month old wake me up crying and screaming at 2am.. i finally went back to sleep at 4 then had to get up to get the kids ready for school at 6am... boy am i sleepy,   but today i had my check up with dr halmi.. it went well i fessed up to being a bad patient and stopped doing what i was suppose to do  and thought the surgery would do the work for me.. he noticed i lost some weight asked me what i was doing and told me i was doing everything i should.. and to keep up the good work..  i told him my goal is to be 150.. he said 160 would be good for me... but i still want to be in the 50s  lol    i got my lab sheet from him to go get my blood work done... first time in 4 yrs... i was bad bad bad.. i know but im now a good patient.. lol 

todays food intake

coffee   vitamins in  

B   banana
S  Skipped due to driving to dr appt
L   small salad with crab meat
S    protein drink  130 calories 26g of protein
D   will be fish and vegis

dessert.... my sugar free popsicle

 then today going to the gym after dinner  couldnt go this morning

have a great night and keep dry...

hi beth

just wanted to let you know that i feel your pain!  keep up the good work, maybe add another 20 ounces of water to your day, how bout your protein? you are doing awesome with working out, i dont get to work out that often, so yay for you!

ive been up and down for the last week..fluctuating between 187 and 191 ..sometimes i want to scream, but i know that this weight didnt come back on overnight and its not going to come back off overnight ..we just need to keep our chins up, SMILE and thank God for the tool we have and keep using it as we are supposed to ..it will eventually HAVE to come off

busy week for me ahead, take care of yourselves and drink drink drink!

   hope everyone is having a nice weekend. rain is coming soon..  Im frustrated... i am eating right doing what i should of been doing all along after surgery.. and im hitting the gym 2 times a day..  what did you all do when you hit a platue?  i got to 186 and i havent gone down in 3 days...  today im giving myself a bad day.. meaning i can have something i dont eat the rest of the week... i try to give myself 1 bad day every weekend.. that way i dont feel the need to graze or cheat the rest of the week.... i went to the gym today...  did cardio for 45 minutes.. my husband says i should up my routine, that my body is getting use to the same routine and wants to hold on to my fat.... but it seems with eating right i should still be losing the weight since i had the surgery... i just dont get it...  im drinking my water .   getting in about 75oz a day..   i really just wanted to be under 185.. when i see Dr Halmi on monday... i wanted him to notice that ive been working at this... hard.     since i got back on track... in 4 to 5 weeks   ive lost 22 pounds...  

i just want to be 140 and i want it yesterday..... lol

Good Afternoon~   im at work, so gotta make it quick! lol

remember when i said i was feeling sluggish and frumpy? i guess i was holding on to water weight or something, was up 3 pounds- scale was showing 191# again ..ugh..i was so discouraged, so yesterday, i drank drank drank - got my protein in - and this morning the scale showed 187#  LOL ..ugh...ok, so im not complaining now, but the up and down is killing me!

today:

vitamins in w/ 16.9oz water
24 oz Coffee  (usual)
33.8oz Water
B-Fiber One Bar
S-1/2 med apple (sliced) with 2 tbsp Peanut Butter + 1 Moz. String Cheese Stick
16.9oz Crystal Light
S-1 oz Pistachio Kernels
L- 12 oz Tropical Smoothie (Health Nut made w/Splenda and Whey)

not sure what we are doing for dinner ...probably salad and something to do with chicken

630pm-we ended up going out to Outback Steakhouse for my daughter and husband's bdays, their bdays were the 5th and 15th.

D-i ordered lemon water ...took a few sips..THE BREAD CAME OUT AND I DIDNT TOUCH IT :)
i ordered the Grilled Chicken on the Barbie w/ Steamed Veggies (prepared light style)  i only ate 1/2 the chicken (about 3 oz) and the cup of salad and 1/2 of the portion of steamed veggies...DELICIOUS..i brought home the leftovers

im off work tomorrow..soccer game in the morning and bowling party with coworkers on Sunday!

Morning all!  How are you today?  TGIF!!!  So the evening went well last night.  Great Bday dinner!  Surprised hubby with some fabulous gifts & a surprise guest for dinner.  Sat on the deck with my friend and watched as hubby & kids kicked the soccer ball around some.  So any plans for the weekend?

Swapped weekends with the mom regarding the kids so hubby and I are girlie free, not sure if the "son" is coming out or not.  No plans for tonight, might hit the high school soccer game.  Tomorrow hubby works & I am going out to dad's again to see my aunt & uncle, might bring my niece home with me.  BIL is supposed to come over to go fishing with hubby.  Sunday is my stepdad's bday dinner & we have soccer. 

Yesterday's food results:
cuppas & protein in
B - none
S - crackers
L - cheeseburger & sun chips
S - carrots
D - bbq chicken, beans
40 oz of water
a couple of bites of cake

Todays plans:
B - oatmeal (heart healthy serving size
S - crackers or carrots
L - leftover steak & beans & some potato salad
S - carrots or crackers
D - not sure
