Topic: Saying hello
I haven't posted in quite a while but I've been around when I can.
When I began my quest for a healthier life I weighed 262 lbs.
I am very happy to say that yesterday was my 3 year 'surgiversary. I am 138 lbs.
I've kept off 124 lbs and I feel wonderful.
I've had many people who have been helpful to me along the way. Natalie aka Tink, Jackie T, Courtney P. are just some who I know are still on here.
If I can be of any help to you or you just want to chat, PM me!

Topic: RE: 5 day pouch test
I've never heard this test done with anything but cottage cheese, which should be eaten within 15 minutes to be accurate. Cottage cheese is fairly solid, doesn't require chewing, is non-compressible and it sticks together, which makes it ideal for this test. You want something which won't slide out of your pouch into your Roux limb quickly, which makes things like yogurt & oatmeal poor choices for the test.
You could try scrambled eggs/eggwhites, I suppose, although it hasn't been validated (meaning I don't know how fast it empties, compared to cottage cheese). I would say that if a cup (or less) of scrambled egg satisfies you within 15 minutes, your pouch is probably sized right. If not, you might ask your surgeon for other suggestions (or hold your nose & chug the cottage cheese!)
