Topic: Hello from another newbie
Let me introduce myself.  My name is Jackie.  I am a single mother of two daughters.  My oldest is 18 and my youngest is 10.  We live in Yorktown.  I am in the beginning stages of WLS.  I have been to the Orientation and my 1st appt with the surgeon.  July 8th I have my appt with the Nutritionist.  Next week I call to make an appt for my Psyc Eval.  So it's coming along.

I do have a few questions.  What can I expect from the Nutritionist and Psyc Eval appointment?  How do you deal with the love affair that most of us have with food?  How long were you out of work after surgery?  Did anyone on here have surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital?  I guess that's all for now.

Topic: Has Dr. Mitchell Krieger done your surgery??

I'm new to this website and am looking for anyone who has used Dr. Krieger for their surgery?
Tell me about your experience.  Would you recommend him to the one person that you cherish the most?  Looking for your input positive or negative(if any).

I'm considering using him next year and would love to hear from his patients.

Thanks

Topic: something about insurance
Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share something that I found out today. I recently quit my job and had to purchase health insurance. You are categorized 1-4...1 being the least health risk and 4 being the highest. I received a letter today that I was in category 4, because my gastric bypass was within the last 3 years. So my rate was more than doubled.

My insurance rep wants me to dispute it because I am more healthy now than when I started. I'm in the process of getting a letter from my dr.

Just wanted to share in case someone else was thinking of buying new insurance.

Penny

Anyone that has had revision surgery by Dr. Elariny, what are his pre op requirements (i.e., blood work, colonoscopy, diet, etc...)?

I'm like you don't get on here much anymore. My prayers are with you and things will work out. Don't worry about the weight. I think this is normal. I have gained 15 and can't seem to get it off.Keep us posted.

Topic: RE: 5 day pouch test

The 5DPT is not about test the size of your pouch.  It is about reconnecting your mind and your pouch.  Read the book.  I started to regain weight about two years ago. Slowly at first but then I put on more, a total of 80 lbs regain.  I start the 5DPT on June 1st , I have lost a total of 13 lbs.  It really getting you mind set back in the right place.  If you are struggling with regain, I would recommend trying the 5DPT.  What can it hurt, you just go back to eating the way you did after the surgery.

Topic: Warrenton Bypass Support Group Meeting Thursday
The WBJC will be having their monthly meeting at Fauquier Hospital in the Bistro on the Hill.  The meeting is from 6 to 8.  I will have a vase of flowers on the table.  This group is open to pre-op, post-op, friends, and family.  We have a very open meeting and no topic is untouched.  Hope to see you there.

I can attest to all that the others have said about Dr. M. Krieger, he did my extended tummy tuck and he did an outstanding job.

Krisa,

Also make sure to visit the OH Plastic Surgery forum. It's relatively active and has allot of good information there.
