Topic: RE: Plasic Surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital
Tricare does not cover ps unless it is for a medical reason. PS cost a lot less at PNH then civilian but I decided to go to Dr. Kreiger in Fairfax, VA. I am a firm believer, you get what you pay for.  PNH didn't really give me a good consult , I pd for the procedures and was put on the waiting list. I would of liked to have some more info from them but since I didn't, I decided to get other consults and I am glad I did.  Hope this helps

REALIZE Band on 06/23/10 with
Topic: RE: live in arlington and leaning toward vsg -- any other arlingtonians out there?!?!?
HI there,

I live in Arlington too, and had the Realize band placed in June.  I went to Dr. Halmi at BluePoint group and have to say even though the location is awkard I am very pleased and highly recommend their practice.  Especially important is the follow up work.  They offer a monthly meeting to go over issues/suggestions, a weekly meeting run by a therapist, and regular follow up with the nutritionist.

Would definitely be up to getting together sometime with other NOVA'ers the more we help each other the more we help ourselves

Topic: WBJC WLS Support Group Meeting Tonight
The WBJC will be having their monthly meeting at Fauquier Hospital in the Bistro on the Hill.  The meeting is from 6 to 8.  I will have a vase of flowers on the table.  This group is open to pre-op, post-op, friends, and family.  We have a very open meeting and no topic is untouched.  Hope to see you there.

Are you covered under Tricare?? Or another insurance?? I was wondering the same about PS there at Portsmouth. I am Military dependant and had WLS there, but wasnt sure what I was going to do about PS, and if tricare covered it and how long after wls you have to wait to have any work done??

I'm in Chesapeake, not too far from Virginia Beach. I'm approved for surgery, but have not gotten a date yet. I'm new to the board and would also like to find new friends to share this experience with. I live in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake.

I went to one of their seminars last summer and was  under the impression that Dr. Terracina was starting to do sleeves.

I was self-pay as well and made the decision to go to Monterrey Mexico for my sleeve.  I have a great primary care doctor here who does my follow-up bloodwork, etc., other than that it's been 9 months and I've had no problems.

Good luck deciding what's best for you!
