Topic: RE: live in arlington and leaning toward vsg -- any other arlingtonians out there?!?!?
Hi! I'm just finding this site! I work in Arlington, live in Vienna. I had RNY on June 28th at Fair Oaks through Dr. Moazzez at Bluepoint. They have support groups that meet for pre and post people. The next one is Monday Sept 20th at Fair Oaks. I'll be going, so if you are interested, let me know and I can meet you! I've lost 63 lbs, and it's been the best decision of my life!

Diana Good to hear from you. I would imagine the arms would be more sensitive.
I had hoped with be more active and trimed by now but with the fall in Feb and the fractures it has been a difficult time. Hope to get back on a regular basis in the pool soon.
Keep in touch

-Hi Caroline,
Sorry to hear you needed to have surgery, but glad you're doing so well. I am also on the mend from having arm lifts done on 8/30 wit Dr. Krieger. I'm finding this surgery to be more of a pain in the garbanzos than the extended TT I had. Go fig! Take care,
Diana

Topic: Gall Bladder update
Well yesterday had my gall bladder out. Doc Moazzez is an incredible surgeon. No complications and I have no pain where he made the incisions. Bit tired and a scratchy throat from the intebation. No pain meds needed.
Just a reminder of issues with gall bladder. Stay away from fatty foods, butters, mayos, chocolate and nuts. I did not know about nuts. In a pinch I eat nuts for protien.
Since my surgery 2 years ago have never been ill until the gall bladder attacks. Small gagging bouts in the begining. When out to dinner meals with butter, I began to become nauseous.
Months later severe pain in the breast plate and radiated to my back.
A sonagram showed the gall stones. Understand we can all have different symptoms.

Topic: RE: CONFLICTED ABOUT SURGERY
There are complications in all surgeries. Our weight adds to complications. If you are committed loosing some weight before surgery is invalluable. You will start having tests, those tests are invaluation to make sure you are healthy for the surgery. I
I would suggest practiicing as though you are a weight loss surgery now. i'e wait 20 minutes between drinking and eating. Up your protiein intake and lower your carb intake. Start using sugar substitutes. You should be getting set up with a nutitionist to help you with all of this.
Once you have surgery we all need to take vitamins for the rest of our lives. Most of us were low in some anyways.
Plastic surgery usually is not cover except in cases well documented you may get is approved for medical necessity. I chose not to wait.
Suggest going to support groups. Bluepoint surgical has support groups that you can meet the surgeons. No need to know you are with Kaiser. Woodbridge Potomac Hospital or Fair Oaks hospital have support groups.
Most of all you need to commit to a new life style. Which means taking time for you and loving you. Good luck and keep in touch. Do your rearch and it will help you decide what is right for you.
