I am glad you have decided on Potomac and I know you are anxiously waiting to hear from the insurance company. Once your insurance approves, the remainder of the process will go a lot smoother. Keep me posted on your progress. .

Thank you Tammy. I will be having it at Potomac. I found out friday my package is now ready to send off to ins. I hope there will be no more delays. I am so excited. I had a few dumps in the road and was getting down but now hopefully no more delays. We will see. lol

Thank you. I found out yesterday-surgery is scheduled for November 17. Exciting and sobering news all at the same time. I just want to be healthy and have a more normal exercise tolerance again. Have you had surgery already?

I also have CareFirst but I am in Alexandria, VA and my Dr is at Virginia Hopital Center in Arlington. There are 2 surgeons there but i do not know the distance from you. I have had a wonderful experience with them and their office WLS nurse is Michelle and she is awesome.!

Waits arent to bad but are lengthy and it will be worth the wait, sorry to here about MJH but you might have issues w/ UVA as well remember we are just #'s to them all but all and all UVA is a good place not alot of after care but Dr Schirmer saved my life this is for sure. Wish you lots of luck and look us up VA FFP we meet once a month every 4th Sat support group we are one other than the one UVA offers you can email me later if you like and Ill fill you in on our group. Hope you have a sucsessful surgery Ill be 5 yrs out on Halloween doing great from 410 to `169 I cant complain.

HI your dr. should go over this with you and his staff, but I lived on jellos, liquids, puddings. I had a rough time getting in the shakes as my body just kept puking them up. I had alot of puking the first three months and I still cant eat alot of foods esp. meat!! Good luck with your surgery keep me posted

No surgery yet. RNY planned in a few weeks but I have lost about 20 pounds in preparation and feel better already.
