Topic: Supplement Store??
Hi all! I'm new to the area and I'm looking for somewhere they sell protein products. I had RNY almost 6 years ago (1/2005) and I still like to use them. The ones at my old docs office were the Healthwise products...love them! They have like broth, juice, shakes. I'm hoping I can find them in my area. I live in the Alexandria, VA area. If anyone could help, it's appreciated! Thanks!!

Lauren it's OK we all make these dumb moves from time to time the first step is admitting we have the issue's, and making the break. Like already said if you did eat them it isn't a crime put it behind you and move forward chalk it up as a gift to yourself for the year and forget it and focus on not making the mistake again. That is why I stress the importance of the support group so much. It is so important to get together once a month or a few times to be with those of us who go threw this on a daily base. Just because we have lost the weight had plastics to those who have had and are maintaining we deal with issues like this everyday. As well as now the holidays and daily stress. The meetings are SO SO important to relieve the stress of talking to those who go through what we ALL do and getting suggestions getting it off our chests and helping one another so please don't be afraid to reach out to any of us here or FB we are all here what ever the issues is. Don't beat yourself up sending lots of hugs.....

Well Lauren, we all have a slip here and there, so don't beat yourself up over it. Hopefully the cups are gone, and you didn't eat them. If you did, dust yourself off and get on the right track. I find myself on my FB page with supporters more than here, but I keep coming back to the "Mother Ship" just like you. OH, is a great organization with all the support we need.
I am local in the Norfolk, VA area and willing to get out and about if you're local. If not, if you want to venture out to OH or WLSFA events, Im game. I just came back from the OH event in Houston, and heading to Raleigh NC on Saturday the 4th of December to hear Katie Jay speak. Her book is some really great reading.
we can make it together...

I'd also not assume that she needs the gastric band. She needs to research all 4 options and seek the advice of a surgeon who peforms all 4 options to ensure she makes the most well educated choice for herself.
Is she able to qualify for medicaid or medicare? (I can never keep the 2 straight in my head.)

Thanks everyone. I went with Dr E and felt I couldnt have made a better choice. While very expensive I feel he was the best for the DS and for me and worth it.

Dr Elariny has an excellant reputation but I have heard he is expensive.
If you are looking for a Dr with hi numbers suggest Dr Halmi use him at Fair Oaks Hospital
you want 1st class hospital as well They have well trained anestisists Super inportant for your surgery,
I highly recommend Dr Moazzezz who is in the same office with Dr Halmi at Bluepoint Surgical
I chose him for his repuations as a general surgeon. He is exceptional and cares for his patients.
Good luck!

Topic: struggling with stress...
I know I pop in and off the boards because it definately isn't as active as it used to be, but thought I would come back to my beloved "home base" for a bit of support and suggestions.
I'm struggling with a very stressful string of events. The last several months, things have been building. I've tried to really focus on staying on track. I eat well and try to eat regularly. I admit, I've made some bad food choices but realization is the key to correction, so I adjust myself.
Well last night I had another one of the dreaded peanut butter cup nights. I posted this way back when, when I had a falter.
At 1048pm I actually went out and purchased a package of peanut butter cups. I just can't believe I got dressed out of my jammies, got in the car, drove to CVS and did this.
I got home, placed the cups on my dresser and just stared at them. And there they sit this morning. Now, I guess I should be proud of myself and I am ATTEMPTING to do the same thing as last time and throw them out. I still adhere to the strict no sugar rule.
I'm dissapointed in myself.
