Ok, so I had to put this update in. I am getting so frustrated at my weight loss. Yes, I know I should be greatful that I have had the chance to have surgery. Yes, I know I should be happy about the almost 80lbs I have lost. But, for some reason I am starting to gain a little back. What have I been doing, or not been doing you might ask?? The only thing different with my life here lately is that I have not been working out. Week before last, I did something to my back. So, I felt the best thing to do was to stay away from working out until I got things together with my back. I am not eating more calories, I am not taking in more carbs, sugars, or anything like that. I have been trying to make sure that I am getting in all my protein. I do know how important that is. But, other than this nothing has changed. Earlier last week, I was down to 278lbs. Then tonight I am back up to 281. What in the heck is going on? I have heard of people loosing weight and then putting it back on, but I never thought it would happen to me. I do not know what to do. Melissa

Hi, sorry for your frustration. Our bodies are very unique. Weight loss is not always a down hill slide all the time. We have body fluids that can influence our weight, or "that time of the month", many things. I think many of us get too attached to our scales. I have known many many many folks like that. I much prefer to go by my clothes sizes as a guide. Take a break from the scale, follow your eating and exercise program, have some fun, relax. Plateaus are very common, frustrating yes, but normal normal normal. Go enjoy yourself and relax for awhile. huuugzzzzz

Oh sweety you are not gaining your weight back . It could be lots of things .. water weight .. fluid .. 80 pounds is great .. your body may be taking a break and this happens . Keep doing what you are doing . I would suggest that if you want to boost things .. try uping your protein and water intake . Knowing that you have hurt your back , you can do other exersises while sitting . Try sitting on the floor .. and just move your arms .. or lift your legs. If walking does not hurt to bad , try walking . But I do know that increasing your protein will-or normally works for most . You are doing great.. do not give up .. it will restart !!! Hugs, Natalie
