WEIGHT CONTROL OATMEAL
Well yet another great find for protein sources and so yummy too .
Weight Control Oatmeal by Quaker . Here is the Nutrition Facts ..
160 Calories
29 Carbs ( 6 Fiber and 4 souluable fibers !!)
1 Sugar ( Yippee )
and 7 grams of Protien
And what makes this a great find is that the protien is from Whey Isolates !!!!! Not Soy !!!!!
This morning I had the Banana Bread .. and OMG I dropped 12 raisins in with it and this is like a slice of true Banana Bread ..
I have also tried the Apple Cinnamin and it is great too .
So if you are a fan of oatmeal ( So very good for you )
Then I would suggest trying this out . I found it at Walmart !

I just bought that yesterday at Walmart also. I am not sure if I will be able to tolerate it yet 3 weeks out..but I have it in my cupboard !!!
How many carbs are we suppose to get a day max? I know at least 100 grams Protein...but not sure on the carb thing yet !!!

OH.....thanks for suggesting the crystal light peach tea and fuzzy navel nectar. It is the only Protein drink that I really like now !!!! I think I drink about 64 oz of it mixed a day !!!!

Here was my protocol as a newly post op . I kept my protien at 120 and my carbs no more than 20 . Some say that is too low but at the stage you are at you can not get enough protein in right now . And it paid off for me as well .. 200 pounds gone ... shed .. ( I did not loose them as I do not want them to find me LOL )
You are doing great on the protien .. and for the carbs .. try to stay away right now from the white carbs.. what I like to call the bad carbs .. Sugar .. bread, flour - pasta .. These turn to sugar so beware ..
I am so glad you like the Nectar .. I am heading to the Vitamin Shoppe today to re=stock !!!
You may want to just try mixing it glass per glass versus by the gallon ! But if it works for you .. Go for it !!!

Woohoo! Thanks for the information on that one! I"m just about two weeks out, and living life day by day! I tried oatmeal yesterday thinned out but had to doctor it up a bit. So something that already tastes good I'll try!
Dana told me about the nectar fuzzy naval and peach tea. I tried the fuzzy naval last night with the orange pineapple CL, and liked it alot! I'm just worried because it tolok me so long to drink it and the powder kept settling at the bottom. I used a shaker cup that Dana had also told me about. I love this site andall the helpful information everyone has to share!

At 2 weeks out sweet pea it should take you a while to drink one . Just take your time ,.. no hurry ! Sip and Sip .
The best way I suggest to mix up the Nectar is to mix up what ever you are going to drink it with .. let's say Chrystal Lite .. pour into glass . Pour in one scoop of the Nectar .. Mix really well .. with spoon or shaker .. then add your ice .. never mix it with your ice first .. you will def get lumpies ..

How did you get 120 protein a day in the beginning with just sipping???!!! Is that all you consumed early on? Please share!
I started having twitchy legs last week and someone else I know told me I wasn't getting enough protein, so I've been trying harder to d o it. I need to get me some of the nectar as what I tasted last night was a sample pack! Right now i'm drinking one that is choco coconut flavored. It's actually pretty good.....except it has tiny pieces of coconut. I am consuming other foods containing some protein but i doubt I'm getting more then 40 a day!

Ok here is the dealeo .. right now .. do not concern yourself with the 120 grams .. at best you should be able to do 40 t0 60 .
By your 6th week .. you should be able to do @ 60 ... 2 shakes a day .. at around 23 grams .. and your food . These sources can come from beans, eggs, cheese ( My fav ) or milk products .
It is not until about month 3 that you could get your protein up to 100 to 120 .
If you do not mind - send to me what you can eat .. I have a list of great protien laden foods and can send them to you .
It will happen and you will get there .

Oh thanks Nat..i love oatmeal!!!!!!!! i will be picking some of this up later in the week!!!!!!!!! If i can keep my hubby out of all my good foods..i could have something healthy to eat...as it stands..he eats up my food and i end up having to settle for the bad stuff..ugh!!!!~ SOME MEN!!

Ok now sweet Judy .. you can not let him eat your oatmeal !!! LOL .. It is really good and so good for you .
Tell him it taste like shoe leather .. and maybe he will leave it alone .
I know what you mean about the hubby eating up your food . Well My X would try all my new foods .. and would make me matter than hades when I went to fix my meals and it not be there .. O well that is one reason he is my X .. LOL
