The early news....

Thanks everyone for all your support - you guys and gals rock! My sister Pam is still in surgery but the breast surgeon's job is done. Pathology will be back Friday... however, her sentinel lymph node on the one side tested positive for cancer. I wasn't really expecting that so I'm a bit floored. I'm sure there will be some intensive chemo in Pam's future. The drugs they have these days are terrific though so we will all remain quite positive. The plastic surgeon is still working on the reconstructive part of the surgery and that is expected to take many more hours. Thanks again for all the prayers and positive thoughts... the road ahead will be a long one... Kathy

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you deal with this illness. I hope like you said with the drugs today that she will only need a very few treatments to get her back on her feet toward recovery. Dee

Aaaaw, Kathy!!! This has got to be SO DIFFICULT for ALL of you - I actually teared up reading your post, I can't IMAGINE the surgeon walking out to give me that kind of news about my sister. I love her more then life itself and it would absolutely destroy me. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your sister and her family - thankfully, we live in a WONDERFUL MOMENT in TIME. There is so many sources for a cure out there, based on decades of research and advancement, that her liklihood of a FULL recovery is extremely positive. Hugs - Lei
