Hmmm, lots of good info on this thread. Good places to camp and good places to just veg out at the beach. Sounds like my kind of a good time!!!

Hi Sharon, Hubby bought a 27 ft motorhome a few months ago, have not had a chance to use it yet. Where do you camp/park it at *****oteage. We will be looking for to places to go. Any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks, Susan

In *****oteague we go to Toms Cove Campground. It's really nice, on the bay side. Good for the fishermen. We actually hit the beach in Assateague. It's really nice, and soooooooooo much fun!! We actually sent the guys out to go clamming, then came back and made clams casino over the open fire!! (See when you have your mini home with you, you can make all kinds of fun stuff!) There is a really nice KOA in Staunton that we went to. It has a river flowing through it with a beautiful falls at the end. We took a cooler and sat in the middle of the falls with other people drinkin beer. Kids were up and down the river on innertubes. SOOOOOOOOOO much fun!! There is also Natural Bridge KOA, and I think there's a Jellystone Park there too. Lots for the kids to do, and you meet some really awesome people!! We campers are an elite group, like harley dudes. LOL I'm sure I'll think of more, but that's it for now. We should hook up and go camping this summer!!! XOXOOXOXOXO Sharon

OMG! My parents and I used to camp there when I was a kid! Awesome place!!!! But that being said... there's one nasty nasty thing about *****oteague you gotta keep in mind: The biting flies In the summer, they are HORRID. Nasty little buggers! And they bite hard, too! Grrrrrr! (Now I feel like doing my Gollum impersonation: "we hatesssssss them! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaatesssss them!") ~K

LOL Kathie!! I don't remember the biting flies as much at the humungo misquitos!!! We used 40% deet bug spray, and that worked. One of the moms was worried about cancer and her kids, and only used 5% deet. She switched to mine real quick when she saw her kids getting eaten up!! Camper wannabes!!! Jeez!!! It really was AWESOME, Leigh Ann!!! ...the pictures are lame in comparison, but at least it gives you a feel for it. I told several of my VaBeach girlfriends that I think we need to also do a "girly-friend" weekend out there, minus the hubbies! The room has a King Size bed and TWO Queen size pull outs - that'll sleep 6 comfortably, plus a TON of floor space for whoever gets the short end of the draw. Heck, I'll just sleep in the TUB!

Wow, Lei...that does look wonderful...however, I would have to go alone... Ex is being really bad again and driving me crazy...however, I am down to 189 from 248...that is thrilling for me. About the only thrill I am getting nowdays...hehe... Hugs, Betsy

I have never been to *****ot but have always wanted to go...now I have a reason... I'll pak my little pootie man up and away we go... I don't think he'll get in the jacuzzi but I know he will snuggle by the fireplace with his moma... looks gorgeous... thanks for sharing...glad you guys had a great time! wanda
