Home 2 days late& not well
All went fine w/ the surgery, except tremendous gas pain, that congregate around my shoulder, woke up screaming the night of the surgery, this lasted almost 2 whole days Still hurts.
Let us not forget the GI ,I know people usually mention the awful taste BUT what about the pain, of being layed out flat w/ no support
Then I get discharged and on my way down to go home ,I said to the nurse I felt hot, she felt me ran and got the thermomitor....103.3, back up I went Susy from Dr T's office was great,a couple tests later, I'm told I have pneumonia, in the hrs and days to follow I had another GI, cat scan, and several chest xrays.(they were afraid of blood clots or collapsed lung) The Pulmnologist thought it was ok if I went home today, and although Dr T didn't agree he said I could go ,because I was really wanting my own home and bed...............well I wish I had stayed now, I'm really scared I won't wake up, and I can't get comfortable. and I have a shooting pain in the back of my shoulders, also my breath gets lost so easily, I miss those breathing treatments and the oxygn.
I'm very scared right now.
Excuse my spelling, percoset makes me loopy
Hi April,
Were you given something for the gas pains? How the heck did you get the pneumonia? Did the docs say you may have aspirated something? I am so sorry you are going through this. Sounds like the gas, the WLS, and the pneumonia are all contributing to your pain. Keep in close contact with DR T and please return to the ER for problems or concerns. Try to walk walk walk. Hang in there !!! You will be better soon. This is most likely as bad as it gets..and it willbe all up from here !!!
Lots of Hugs,
Dana
