Help-need suggestions for calcium
Lei,
Citracal now makes "Petites". The pills are made from "ultradense" calcium citrate so they are a bit smaller than the traditional horse pills. Rich is using them now and says they are much better than the capsules he was taking. No getting stuck!
We got them at Walmart, I believe. Don't remember the cost. Wish Costco would get them.

Hi I am pre-op and experimenting with different vitamins I just ordered liquid calcium. I received a packet with a bunch of different types of calcium from my nutritionist. She said 1 tablespoon 4xs a day. I am going to give it a try. Here is the link... http://www.vitacost.com/BuriedTreasureCalciumPlus

I know my surgeon said calcium citrate not calcium carbonate, but all the calcium citrate stuff makes me sick to my stomach. The tarts chewables make me gag and the liquid seriously gives me an upset stomch (last time I took a swig, I vomited).
I do take the Viactiv (chocolate chews) 2x a day. So far, the only thing off on my labs has been my Iron for which my surgeon just started me on a prescription that I pick up tomorrow. Let's see if I can stomach it.
Since surgery, I have a serious gag reflex and no longer have a castiron stomach. If something feels wrong in my throat or stomach, I throw it up, including chalky chewables. I have to take gummy kids vitamins to get my multis in. The only thing I take that's not chewable is my antidepressant (I take that whole, 2x a day) and my sublingual B12, but those I don't taste as I swallow them quickly with liquid.
Good luck to you,
Tonya
