Messed up profile.... here is a new picture of us
Well, most of my profile has dissapeared. I am so dissappointed as this is the only place that I did any WLS journaling. Oh well... it is gone from June forward.... everything about Cory's surgery in June and mine in August is gone as well as progress since.
We are doing well. Together we have lost 310 pounds. Cory is down 180 and I am down 130. We both still have a LONG WAYS to go but we are headed in the right direction!!!!
Today I finally realized that some of my clothes are just too darn big and I am going to have to get rid of my biggest clothes. I have been wearing the same things since before surgery. I am teaching two psych classes at TCC and today I wore a pair of paints that come up above my chest. They are so big that they keep dragging the ground... in class today I thought I was going to fall on my face in front of the class because I was walking on my pants.... it is time that I can begin retiring my largest clothing... YEAHHHHH!!!!!!
Here is a link to a collage of photos of Cory and I. Mine starts on the day of surgery (Aug. 2), then October, November, and finally december. Cory's first one is about a week before his surgery in June and then October, November, and December. So, if you would like to see our progress since OH somehow deleted our post-surgery profile stuff, here is the link

The scarey thing is that this wasn't the highest weight for either of us... Cory was already down about 60 pounds in his first picture and I was down about 45!!!
Patti
Hi Patti, I've missed you!! Your pictures are remarkable!! Such a handsome couple!!
If you're coming this weekend to Richmond they are going to have a clothing exchange and I am sure you can find some things to fit. I am hoping I can as well!!
Take care of yourself. What a bummer about your profile. I haven't been in mine for awhile so I guess I should check!!
love

Awww Donna,
You are too kind!
I just realized my fingers forgot how to type in my post and there are typo's all over the place... I REALLY CAN spell, just can't type!!!
We won't be at the conference this weekend. We had planned to attend but just couldn't manage our schedule. To begin with, there was a conflict with a class that Cory is teaching at Regent and then there was a conflict with a trip to Philly... we are just too dang busy!
I know you will all have a great time and if anyone has clothes in the 26-28 range that no one else can use (I am now getting down to where most people start!!!!!) I would love to take things off of people's hands... I am too cheap to buy myself clothes... thus why I am looking like a clown!!! (you ladies can keep your eyes open for me to help me move out of clown-dom!!!!! With both of us losing so quickly we can't keep ourselves clothed... I figure my clothes are stretchy and can accomodate me at many different sizes but the reality is that they are getting too big! Cory's dress clothes aren't as flexible so we have replaced most of his. The other day he put on a sweater that was an XL and was able to wear it... keep in mind he started at a 4-5X in June!!!!! Now, that is the only XL thing that he could wear but it actually fit him well and he got lots of compliments at work that day.

Patti
Patti - how tall are you? I am 5'7" and have some 3Xs that I would be happy to pass along to you. I hate to drag them all the way to Richmond and have no one be interested in that size. Let me know - I have a good selection and would love to be able to mail them to you!!!
Even if they don't fit you now, they will in a little bit. Lert me know right away and I'll pull some nice things out for you.

wow, Patti...haven't seen you in such a long time...I have missed you. Your pictures are fabulous! What a big difference between both of you..I am so proud of you both. Will you be at the conference?? It will be a wonderful shopping experience...we are having a clothes exchange! Might help the pocket book some to come and get some clothes that fit you....

Betsy,
I know, I have been so dang busy. We are on the go constantly it seems. I have my regular counselor job and am now teaching half time at a community college. On top of that I am working like a dog on my dissertation and of course there are things like church (which we are VERY involved in), family time, a little socialization, and sleep when I can fit it in. Some day I am just going to have one job and not be in school and won't know what to do with myself!!!!!
Sorry I won't be able to meet you this weekend... maybe next time... it just didn't work out schedule-wise for us to be there.

Jen,
Thanks!
Yes, I am bummed about my profile. I am a slacker about keeping it up but I did try to post something to it each month. I know that reading profiles when I was a pre-op was so encouraging for me and I wish I could have my story to share with others but I didn't think to save it anywhere else.
Doing the collage of headshots was very affirming for me as I can see the progress. When you look in the mirror every day it is slow and hard to notice but with the faces side by side it is noticable even to me that I am changing.
Isn't this a fun journey???
