I volunteered in EMS for many moons, and I guess my love for medical knowledge spills over into my need to know exactly what my surgeon is going to be doing inside my gut!! So, I was doing some more research online this morning, and I found a site that I think is great for anyone pre-op who wants to know exactly where, how and why they use the laproscopic devices. I'm going to include the links in my profile too. Here 'tis: Rating: This site uses illustrations only-unless you faint at the site of a squashed bug, I think you can view these safely! http://www.laparoscopy.com/obesity/roux.html Rating: WARNING: This site uses actual pictures-NOT for the faint-hearted!!! http://www.laparoscopy.com/obesity/gandsas_roux.html Rating: WARNING: This page links to 3 movies-one is the creation on the Roux-en-Y limb, the other 2 of movies of possible surgical complications. I totally do NOT recommend viewing these unless you have a VERY strong constitution!!!!! http://www.laparoscopy.com/www/movies01/mov_index.php I don't want to gross anyone out, but hope these links might be of some educational help to folks like me that just HAVE to know! Thanks a bunch! I had been looking for something like your first link for my mom and brother who are interested in what takes place during the surgery. I haven't gotten to the third link yet (currently eatting lunch), but I found the second one interesting. Julie

Very interesting, although I didn't understand a word that was said. I would not have known what I was looking at if I wasn't told. Thanx for the info. Corinn
