How To Eat Guiltless Gourmet
“You're having dinner with friends who cook delicious, yet calorie heavy, meals. Here's how to eat guiltless gourmet.”
Just because you're watching what you eat doesn't mean the rest of the world (or even your family) is in sync. When you have to eat at a friend or family member's home, we all know it's not always easy to just say no at the risk of hurt feelings or, at the very least, being the center of attention. If you're served a plate of food where you don't choose what's on it, size it up before you start eating. What would be the best choices that keep you on target? How much food is really there? You may decide to only have one bite of the mac n' cheese and just half of the potato salad. Whatever you plan, eat slowly. Talk between bites. Put your folk down. Make your meal last as long as everyone else's. This way, you won't feel the need for seconds, and if you have food left when everyone else is done, people will be less likely to even notice.
