Plastic Surgeon in Woodbridge, VA area

Can anyone give me a plastic surgeon in the area?

I have lost almost 100 pounds since my surgery last June 2009.

I have excess skin in my inner thigh and stomach area. Is there a certain amount of weight you should loose first before getting plastic surgery?

Anyone had their insurance to pay for it?

Thanks,

The Bluepoint Surgical Group w/ Dr Halmi does plastics.  Insurance varies, perhaps you could get a consult with Dr Halmi ..He's awesome!

Good Luck and Congrats on your weight loss!

Hi there,

I went to Dr. Mitchel Krieger @3700 Joseph Siewick Dr. Suite 301 Fairfax VA 22033 phone number 703-262-0904. He is NOTto be mistaken with Dr. ANDREWKRIEGELof Bluepoint. Quite a few of us who post on the VAforum have gone with Dr. Krieger. He and his entire staff understand WLS patients and are wonderful to work with.

It was definitely worth the drive from Fredericksburg to Fairfax. I am absolutely THRILLED with the work Dr. Krieger did on me. I'm at my WLS goal and maybe I'll lose a few more pounds, but the biggest thing before you have your plastic surgery is that you have maintained your weight for at least 6 months. I plan to have my arms done next. I had an extended TT done in January where Dr. Krieger removed almost 11 pounds of excess skin. I only had 1 event with rashes ( I try like a banshee to not get them!) and was advised that my health insurance would not pay for it, so I paid out of pocket and used Care Credit.

Hope this helps.

Insurance doesn't usually pay fpr plastics sadly.... every case is taken individually. I used Dr Mitchel Krieger of Fair Oaks - the man is a GOD! I am mega happy with everything he did for me and many others have used him here  too and love him -  he specializes in bariatric plastic surgery so you could not be in better hands - your first consult is free....

You need to have a stable weight first because you dont want to have plastics and then lose another 70 lbs.....

You should just go and have a talk to him - there is no pressure...

Hi Mary - l suggest making appts with several of the doctors and go with who you feel most comfortable with.  l saw Dr. Kreiger, Dr. Kreigel and Dr. Ruff.   Insurance denied my claims for all but it was well worth every penny.   I had my lower body lift in December and just had my breast lift, upper arm and inner thigh lift in April 2010.  All done through Dr. Paul Ruff out of NW DC!  He was amazing and did awesome work and was very up beat and positive!  I fully recommend him.   l didn't want to travel to DC or like him LOL   But, l did and would do it all again.  Going to see him Tuesday for my 6 week follow up.   Lovin' my new body!

I believe there are 2 main weight considerations for PS:
1) be within 5 - 15 pounds of your goal weight
2) stable weight for 3+ months (not still losing)

HTH!
