My latest update and current drama!
So I still have the feeding tube. Although alot of the times, it hurts my stomach (blind stomach) to feed through it, so I don't really see much sense in having it but, I'mn not the dr. I am still only able to orally consume 500-700 calories, which we know is WAY TOO LITTLE.
I did switch gastro intestinal specialists. The one I had been seeing for the last few months was the one I ended up being stuck with due to him being on call at the hospital when I was rushed to the ER with the bleeding ulcer.
Tuesday I went to have another scope done, just knowing that nothing would show up because nothing had in the last 3 scopes I've had. Well much to my dismay.... There was several,(more than 3) ulcers and a hiatal hernia. The ulcers I can deal with. I've had one before but this hernia has me a bit concerned and confused. The GI dr thinks that maybe this hernia has been alot of my problems from the beginning, (along with the ulcers) but just never manifested itself to be shown on scopes. He took pics and gave them to me to take to the WLS. I can NOT wait to take the pics to him, throw them in his face and tell him to tell me I'm overexaggerating now. He has absolutely NO reason to brush me to the side now or to throw my care to the wind.
So he upped my protonix, prescribed liquid carafate and gave me more, stronger pain meds. I go see the surgeon on Jan 15 so maybe he will decide if the hernia is requiring surgery or not and then I follow up with the GI dr in 4 weeks. Good news is.... I refuse to continue living with this pain, discomfort and issues any longer. They have controlled my life for way too long and I will be damed if it will continue doing so.
Thanks to everyone for all the prayers, well wishes & good thoughts. They mean the world to me.

Go get'em tiger.
Its cases like yours that I am glad I let Dr,. Hutcher do open RNY on me. It sounds drastic but he sure did a good job and fixed alot of stuff in addition tothe bypass. He fixed my hiatial hernia, I had ulcerated stomach that he trated and detached and he took my gall bladder that was causing me lotsa problems but I had no stones.
If my one kidney hadn't quit unexpected there a week after surgery, for about a week then started working again about the time they were gonna open me back up, I would have had a free ride on the recovery road.
You know what you are feeling and if or not treatment seems to be working. Hang in there and keep sticking up for yourself!

I am so glad to see you are really being your own patient advocate....it is so easy to turn ourselves over to the medical community blindly. Keep fighting and standing up for yourself....and don't be afraid to switch docs if you aren't getting the care you need. My family found this out during my parents' illnesses over many years. There are many wonderful doctors out there!
Hang in there, Theresa, and know that we are behind you. I hope you are on the mend soon, with or without surgery. :)
