hello!  I was just wondering if there are any Virginians out there with the lap band or realize band done by Dr. Clark or Dr. Terracina from the Weight Loss Surgery Center of Hampton Roads.  I had my band done on the 10th, and I am still on the liquid phase, but I am soooo ready to start the soft foods diet!!!  merry Christmas!!

It took me approx 2 months to get everything done and completed.  My insurance required sooooo much before they would even send it off for approval, but once it was approved they call you and get things rollng VERY quickly!  Just an fyi...the doctor that does your seminar will be the doctor that does your procedure....both Dr. Clark and Dr. Terracina are great, but Dr. T was my doctor.  Keep us posted and best of luck!!

Hi! I am going to the seminar beginning in January and am hoping to have Dr. Terracina as my surgeon. Kati728, can you tell me about your experience-good, bad (I know you just had it done but would love to get your take on it)
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Cari, when you call to schedule your seminar just ask them which doctor is doing it.  Look at my post above..that explains it!! As for me....I am VERY frustrated now that I am almost 2 weeks out!  I want something to eat!! I know this won't last forever, but after only liquids for almost 2 weeks I am sick of it!!   As for the surgery...most band patients go home the same day, but my insurance required that I stay overnight and I'm glad I did because they gave me some good meds..LOL!!  but I am a teacher and I only took off 2 days from work...I had it done on Thursday, came home on Friday and then had the weekend.  I went back to work last Monday and I should have taken that day too, but i went back to school.  I wouldn't really say you are in "pain" afterwards, but for me is is alot of soreness throughout my abdomen.  Each day it gets better and I don't have much at all now.  So overall it's been good, but I am just ready to eat something now...everyone says it's better once you get on the soft foods phase....best of luck!!
