Well I don't cook for Thanksgiving, I always go to others houses & let them cook for me so I am stuck with what is provided.  I do focus on the protein & veggies and may allow myself to splurge on a few things.  As for deserts, I will have some, a lot of times I share with my hubby.  Being a fall baby who actually spent her first Thanksgiving still at the hospital, it is my favorite meal and I make sure to enjoy it.

...sitting here drooling, thinking of leftover turkey sandwiches, mmmmmmmm

We always go to my parents house for Thanksgiving. The good thing since surgery is my brother in law is a diabetic so all the cooking is done by him and myself. We always use sugar substitute. I cook the desserts and they are sugar-free. Noone knows the difference(except my dad) so we make him his own little pie.

Turkey
Mashed potatoes
macaroni & cheese
stuffing
green beans
corn
sweet potato cassarole
gravy
rolls
desserts

Its all about portion control & taking your time. Put 2tsp of everything on your plate  and take your time eating it. That way you dont hurt your pouch trying to cram it in within 10-15 minutes take 30 minutes to eat it while socializing with your loved ones!
