West End Support Groups?

Hello everyone! 

Now that I'm much more settled here, I can reach out as I'm still looking for some kind of support group that will take in a relocated post op.  I really do miss the support and reminders that I would get from my old group that would meet weekly.

Hey Leia! Welcome!! The surgeon's office that I went through, Dr Bautista @ Commonwealth Surgeons, has a whole mess of support groups through out the month. They meet at St Mary's hospital.

1st & 3rd Thursday of month: open to all post op's looking for additional support & behavorial support. 630-830 in the education center

2nd Thursday of month: Forever Thin Support Group. open to all WLS patients, pre op or post op, welcoming friends & family of WLS patients. 7-9 in room 164

4th Thursday of month: pre op & post op wishing to learn about proper nutrition and supporting weight loss goals. 630-800 in the Education Center

2nd Monday of month: open to all Lap Banders, pre op or post op. 700-830 in room 164.

I will be in the hospital tomorrow for surgery or complications regarding my WLS and for a feeding tube insertion. It is the day for the group meeting that I truly need so I'm hoping if I'm up to it, maybe my dr will let me go downstairs to participate. If not, I will be attending the Forever Thin group next Thursday.

Which group sessions is for newbies like myself? 

You have had your surgery, correct? If that's correct, I'd go to the Forever Thin group, which meets 2nd Thursday of each month. That's one that I attend, when I go, and a few others on this board have gone too as well. It's for pre ops and post ops so there should be alot of information. If you are struggling maybe the 1st Thursday of the month meeting or if you are looking for nutritional help, maybe the 4th Thursday of the month meeting. Honestly, it seems lately that I could benefit from a few of them, lol! Hope this helps!
