Hello All,

I will be 4 weeks out this Thursday. I can not eat anything, I can barely drink, but I force myself to sip sip sip. At what point were you able to eat something; even applesauce. I tried applesauce but it feels like it gets stuck in my chest. I'm at wits end. I am so discouraged

I personally think you need to call your surgeon. If you were 4days out it would be ok but 4 weeks? Somethings not right!!

Mary,  l'd call the surgeon.  This doesn't sound right - just like Melanie said.  Good luck and keep us posted.

Good am :)

Please call your surgeon ASAP. This could very well be any number of things. It could be a stricture which is the closing of the opening to your pouch which will not allow food much less fluids eventually to pass through the opening. You are running the risk of becoming severly dehydrated which is potentially dangerous to anyone; specifically those of us who've had WLS. I sincerely encourage you to get checked out as soon as possible. Hydrating ourselves is incredibly vital.

All best!

As the others have said, call your surgeon!  It could very well be a stricture.  I had my first at 5 weeks post op.
