So the 4th is just around the corner...does anyone have any interesting plans?

I live in Richmond and am going to go to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens because they are offering free admission on July 4 (including the butterfly garden).  They are having kids crafts and a kids parade.

Then, I will go to Chesterfield County's fireworks display (probably...it's where we usually go...open to suggestions in the Richmond area).

So what are you doing?

We always stay home and have a cook out .  I am always the cook but I enjoy it so much more now.  We live close to Quantico Base and we see fire works all around us it seems to come from every direction so we don't have to spend alot .  It is a fun day filled with family and friends.  Thats what I love about all Holidays

Lots of people go in to DC or sit on the highway right before you get to DC to watch the fire works on the mall.  We stay home because hter are to many crazy drunk people on the roads.  We like to be crazy and sometimes Drunk but stay off the roads !  You should see some fireworks, people here in Prince William seem to love to break the rules so we see all kinds of shows all round us.  My sister Lives in Fredricksburg and they are going to the wildrness resort on Rt3 to see fireworks.  Have a happy  4th

Start the day off early with a swim meet somewhere in NoVA!  then off to our pool, they have a really nice old-fashioned day, dunk tank, hot dogs, beer, sack races, winds up about 6pm, then home and fireworks in the back yard. lys

RELAX, RELAX, RELAX!!! I had a big graduation party last Saturday so no rest (just fun) last weekend, so I plan to float in the pool, read the latest Janet Evonavich book, and grill some fresh veggies and steak. Might go to "town" and watch the fireworks on Saturday, otherwise, sleep, eat, and relax!!

Hope everyone has a great, safe 4th weekend!!

PS: went to my primary care Dr. yesterday who wrote the referral for my RNY, and I am down 72lbs since the surgery!!!  Definitely bathingsuit in the pool this weekend!!!!!

I have a busy weekend planned.  I'm doing karoake tomorrow night, pub crawling friday night and sunday evening plans too.  The only day (oddly enough) that I haven't buttoned down is the 4th.  I'm going to see what friends have planned and if meeting up at a fireworks show might be worked out.  Have a great weekend sweets!  And going to the botanical gardens, with activities for the wee ones, is great!!  :)

Well, here in the Star City, I don't have any interesting plans. My nephew that lives close by wants us to have a family get together and cook out. Then he wants us to go watch fireworks which sounds great to me! Since I recently had my surgery, I am going to vote to go watch Vinton's fireworks rather than the "big" fireworks in Roanoke or at the Salem fair.

Not too much going on here for the weekend.  I am off on Friday so I will probably do some laundry & cleaning.  Saturday will probably be some time at my dad's to hang out at the pool with family and then back home for the fireworks here.  Sunday is a scheduled family cookout for my brother who is home on r&r from Iraq.  Other than that we will probably be doing last minute stuff for our move.
