My primary dr is the one that supervised my 6 month diet.   I had my final appt last week and when I was there he said he would have the nurse fax over all the chart notes that day.  As of today the surgeons office has not received them.  When I called his office this morning they said there was no request form for the notes to be sent so they couldnt do it.  Is it really that difficult to fax over a few sheets of papers?  Did anyone else have problems getting all the paperwork to their surgeon?

No I didn't have a problem, but if I was you I would get on that phone and call my primary Dr.
and let them know that they need to get on the ball and send those papers to your surgeon if they can't find the time then tell them you will go and deliver them to the surgeon yourself. I don't know why they have to put people off the way they do, esp. since you been supervised on your diet for 6 months and waitng patiently for the surgeon to setup a time for you to see him.
Hang in there Brenda.

I understand your frustration Brenda!  Hang in there and get on the phone if you have to - or drive to your primary get copies and take them over yourself.  Sometimes it's a pain what we have to do to get stuff done!  Don't give up - you're almost there!!!

I have already spoke with the drs office this morning and the nurse said she would "see" what she could do about getting them sent today.  If it isnt done today I will be out there tomorrow to pick them up myself and make the drive to Woodbridge.

Oh Brenda,  I am sorry for the pain.  Especially at this stage you are wanting to know the results from the insurance company.  I have no patience and I would always personally drive to the Dr's office to pick up the copies then fax them from Kinkos to the Halmi.  I would then call Halmi to verify they got it.  And I would drive from King George to Woodbridge for some of this stuff.  But I am just a freak. I see a lot of Drs so I refuse to play that game. When I had to do my 6 mos, at the end of every visit I would ask  for a copy of anything the dr wrote. When ever I had a test, I asked for a copy. And good thing cause my surgeons office did not get many things. Every time I was in the office, they would say, "well we haven't gotten this yet", I would reach into my folder and say "here ya go". It got to the point when they did not have something they would call me cause I could get it to them faster. LOL I have a 3 ring binder, with separate sections listed for each specialist (visits and labs), that my husband could grab in the event of an emergency. (They don't make a medi alert bracelet big enough) I think that binder could tell you the last time I sneezed. I know....tooo neurotic but I swear you have to be that way nowadays with the medical profession. I love all my docs and it has taken me a long time and a lot of "your fired" to get the group that I have, but some of their office staff is dummer than a bag of hammers so I keep them in check. I have done ":sick" long enough to know how it  works.

I USE TO SKINNY DIP...NOW I CHUNKY DUNK!

I so remember this frustration.  My PCP was in Fairfax, my surgeon is Woodbridge and I live in Fredericksburg - I was still ready to load up three kids and travel  I-95 in giant circles to get everything done.

Just know that these are little bumps on the road and everything will work out soon!!!

I'd pick them up and fax them yourself or drive them over, make a copy for YOU just in case too!  good luck.  Lys

If you do end up going to the office and picking up copies don't be to surprised if you have to pay for them!  Several of my doctors now charge to make copies of anything in my charts.

When my paper work was finished my PCP called and asked if I wanted them faxed or if I would like to pick them up.  i chose to pick them up.  It was a little drive but so worth it to know that they actually made it to the surgon's office.

Good luck!

I picked up copies this morning and faxed them over to the surgical coordinator.  Thankfully they didnt charge me but I would have paid for them if need be.  Cost enough to fax them but again it is worth it.

Soon after I faxed the paperwork over I got an email from the surgical coordinator saying that she had faxed everything over to insurance.  Right now hoping and praying for a quick approval.
