What I have been through the past couple of days...

So Wednesday aftenoon I started having a gnawing burning pain in my upper abdomen.  Along with burping, wretching with acid coming up, wanting to eat to make it feel better but no****ing to eat.  So I think ulcer.  I called Thursday and got an appointment for this afternoon. This morning I woke up with the same pain but then I started getting gosh awful pains on my left middle/lower quadent of my adobmen.  I was able to get in to see them an hour earlier.  He checked for a hernia and then sent me over for a Contrast CT scan. Thank God it came out negative and no obstructions.I am home now with some good pain meds.  I am exhausted from fighting the pain all day.  I am OK though, I am actually calm about the situation and was more freaking out that I may not be able to get the girls ready for their last dance compition tomorrow and wondering who will do their hair and make up.  I am going to keep an eye on it this weekend and follow up on Monday.  But I am OK!!

Oh Melissa,  Glad you're okay.  Very scary!  So, what is the cause of the pain?  Hope your follow up goes well and the pain subsides!  I'll be gone a week on vacation but will check in if I can get pc access!  Take care!

Thank you Tina.  I am not sure what the pain is caused for.  I think the first thing they wanted to rule out an obstruction.  I did not get out of there until after 7pm from the CT.  I am on previcid for the "acid".  I continue to monitor what is going on and if things go bad over the weekend, I will just hi tale my butt up to the ER.  Have a great weekend!

Melissa, I'm so glad that nothing showed up on the CT, and that you are home with the girls. Try to take it easy this weekend when you can. Keep us posted and know I'm send positive healing thoughts your way.
By the way you looked fantastic on Thursday even though you weren't feeling good.

Melissa,

So happy to hear that the CT was negative.  Do they plan on scoping you?  That would be the best way to see if it's an ulcer.  When my pain is at it's worst, I feel it from the epigastric area and to the left.  My abdomen-especially at the epigastric line-is always tender when pushed on.
Since I'm the queen of ulcer-land...feel free to pm me with any questions.  I so hope you feel better and I'm really praying for you not to have an ulcer...it really is just awful pain.

Lisa,  I think they did the CT scan to check for obstruction.  I am not sure if they will scope me or not.  I will follow up with that or go see my gastro Dr on this issue.  What you described there is similar to what you explained.  Mine seemed though to be below the ppouch.  It was tender though!!  No lie.

Thanks Lisa!

Melissa, do you still have your gallbladder?  If so that could be the culprit.  If it continues (and it can come & go), monitor if it is a reaction after you eat (1 - 2 hours later) and what it is you are eating (dairy, fats, spicy, etc).  I found out the hard way with mine that the blood test doesn't always indicate gull stones unless they are actually out in the system.  Ask for an ultrasound.  Hope you are feeling better soon.
