4 years ago today............long

Hello my VA friends,

4 years ago today I was getting ready to go to Newton Wellsley Hospital, just outside of Boston.... My surgery was scheduled for noon time... I was a WRECK...... my (then) boyfriend brought me in.....

The surgery was open RNY, had my gall bladder out (stones) and did not react well to the pain meds, so they switched them and I was fine.  Spent 4 days in the hosp due to some heart complications.      I got up that first night and started my walking of the halls....

I took the first 6 weeks off, had built up enough time at work.  Chose to just share that I had my gall bladder out, with complications and needed the time.  I had been walking prior to surgery and had already been losing weight and with the diet restrictions of no gb people "sort of believed me"   At the time I did not feel comfortable sharing my WLS.   I am a VERY PRIVATE person, sometimes it is too private.

2 years ago I left MA because of many reasons, a break up, family moving away and honestly I couldnt handle all of the attention of my huge weight loss.....  I was considered a "light weight" but if you saw my petite frame..... it was needed.   I was on blood pressure meds, acid reflux, cholest. meds and in constant pain.

prior to moving i had a breast lift/skin reduction because it was proven nece. medicalliy needed and was covered by ins... i had so much excess skin that at the end of each day I could barely function and had to go home and just lie down.....

I "was' the picture perfect patient... taking vitamins, exercising and eating only the right stuff.  I had quit amoking prior to surgery....

Now I am in a bit of a funk, but crawling out.....   trying to eat better, get the vits in and walking again....   Have made a few friends on this wonderful website (we have not met face to face, but hope to change that as well)   and have started some one on one therapy.

aww Jill!! Hooray for four years!!! Can't wait to meet you!! You're doing great!! Sometimes admitting you need help is the best thing you can do!! I'm hoping once things calm down we can get together and walk or take the wee one to the park or the beach even.

Thanks, Tam... you are such an inspiration to me.  thanks for the comment on this pic.  It was taken last weekend.    I really look forward to meeting you too.    It was not easy to write all that, but it was good for the "soul' if you know what I mean... I DESP need to get on track again, Tam.

Miss and Love You Much, too!  What are your days off from things?  I need to get to Williamsburg to the outlets next week sometime.

I need to go over to Hampton and sell my books back this week sometime anyway!! So i'll already be on that side! Mondays out and Fridays out, doctors tomorrow and family on Friday, so Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday work!! Let me know, hope we can get together! 

I think Wednesday or Thursday would work...I'll let ya know ASAP!

If its after 6pm or on a weekend I can meet... unless we meet near Lynnhaven on a weekday..... (working for a living stinks (although I KNOW I AM BLESSED to have the work!!)
