Ask LOTS of questions about the how he does the procedure, how much time he expects you to be under and his expectations of your outcome.

Also, find out how does he treat an emergency situation, does he offer any time of insurance in the event your have an issue and have to go back in.  That happened to me, and fortunately, Dr K buys all of his patients insurance.  It saved me over $15K in emergency surgery from my LBL.  I say saved me, because insurance considers this to be elective and because they do not cover this procedeure, they do not cover any issues resulting from it.

Good luck!

I have no advice since I'm still pretty new but wanted to wish you good luck!!  I do have a question... Do most people get a tummy tuck first and then proceed with UBL and LBL.   Any info would be great as I'm losing I'm sooooo sagging everywhere!

Hi Lauren!  Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to you.  I LOVED Dr. Vastine.  She agrees that I need the thigh lift and spent a lot of time answering my questions and explaining the procedure and the recovery time.  It will be about a 4-6 week recovery and she quoted me $5K total for everything.  She does have the insurance where if something else needed to be done related to the procedure within 30 days I would be covered.   I have about 3 pounds of skin on each thigh and she explained that exercise is probably making it worse rather than better because my muscles are so toned and thin and the skin has no where to go besides down.  I will probably decide to have it done over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday period when it is slower here at work and allow me time to save money for it.  I will have my second appointment with her on July 16th to schedule the date.   I figured in the winter months would be best to wear the compression garment rather than in the hot summer sun.   If there are any other questions you can think of, just ask me and I will most definitely try to answer for you.

BTW, you look AMAZING!!
