It hit me like a ton of bricks...

I had to go do grocery shopping last night..... While I was at Walmart I had to get my husband peanuts. The Walmart here has all the nuts on the same isle as the popcorn and candy, not sure if all the Walmarts are the same. Anyways, while I was walking down the isle I noticed 2 women standing in front of the candy. I picked up the peanuts and passed these women. As I passed, I saw that they were overweight and in a trance so to speak over what candy they should pick. What hit me so hard was that I may have looked the exact way trying to decide which chocolate or chew I should buy. Then it hit me on why I got this surgery in the first place, it wasn't the 1 million reasons I had for being so overweight, it was to get myself healthy, and get away from sugar prison. So thankfully I don't get into trances over which candy I should buy and I have shed my chains of all unhealthy.

Just thought Id share this revelation:)

That is a very good revelation.  Kinda sad too, huh?  How much of wished you could say something to them to stear them away from the junk?  I feel like that all the time.

At the Walmart I haunt the most, they have all that candy on the same aisle as some good stuff that I buy.  Being a chocoholic, it sometimes STILL takes a bit of strength to not even look over my shoulder at the "baddies".  Wouldn't it be cool if WE could go in & rearrange their stores so that all the bad stuff is waaaaaay in the back, & all the good stuff is up front?  Or maybe there could be a special room for all the bad stuff...like at video stores where they hide all the adult movies...lol!

I had a bit of a sad moment yesterday though, when I saw an entire family...Mom, Dad, & 4 kids...all very much obese.  I looked into their cart & didn't see but one healthy thing...2% milk!  And they were all munching on a big bag of cheeze puffs as they shopped!!  It's bad enough to see adults in that state, but children?  Sooooo unnecessary.

Well, anyway...I thank you for your post...yet another good reminder of where I've been & where I'm going.

Hugs!
Ann
