Fill Today

Today I got my first fill!  No drama, no pain and now I must learn to follow all the rules.  I have great fear of getting stuck or anything along that line.  There was some fluid in there from the testing Stacy said, and I believe she said she put in 1.3cc's.  I can feel the difference just with the liquids I've had thus far.  I know that there is some slight swelling with the fill so I guess in a few days this might feel different.  Not sure how I feel about it just now, but in a way I am looking forward to seeing how things will feel when I start back on soilds in a few days. Oh, and I lost 1lb. since last week.

I'm not familiar with your doctor, but mine has me on liquids the day I get a fill.  After that the key is to MAKE SURE you chew, chew, chew!  Otherwise you will get a log jam.  Also, follow the 30-30-30 rule...no fluids 30 minutes before, during, or after a meal.  By adding liquids as you eat, you will only flush the food down to your big stomach instead of retaining it in your pouch. Keeping the food in your pouch as long as possible is what gives you that full sensation.  Also, make sure to take 30 minutes to eat your meals...it takes the brain 20 minutes to realize that you just fed yourself.  IF you do get the feeling that you may have something stuck, take a teeny tiny sip of something cold to see if you can feel it going through.  If not, you may just have to excuse yourself & go throw up what's stuck.  After that,  you can resume eating again.  If you wait a long time before doing that,  you WILL get the gooey foamies.  A lot of doctors recommend chewing up papaya enzymes, but personally I've never had any success with them, other than they taste really good!! lol

Good job on the 1 lb loss last week.  You're making progress.  And don't forget to keep moving.

Hugs!
Ann

LOL Dave!  Hmm...how to describe the gooey foamies without grossing everyone out.  Well, ummm...it looks like thick saliva, sometimes clear, but oftentimes white-ish, that sits on top of whatever is stuck.  And good for you for asking for clarification.  Keep the questions coming!!!

Hugs!
