Had my RNY on Monday very sore any suggestions
I will second everyone else, and add that a LOT of the pain goes away when you have your staples removed. I was sore as well, but found that the biggest problem was that when I stood to walk, the staples pulled at my skin, and it was bad.
I would also caution you to take things in stride as far as going back to work only a week out. I myself would have gone back then, I was BORED and by then the staples had been removed. However, I was glad that I took the second week to recover a little more and to get used to eating and moving the right way without as many distractions.
Good luck!

Hi, Biker: Going back to work only one week after GBP surgery is questionable. I, too, have a desk job -- but I was out 4 weeks and that probably was not long enough. It's not the soreness and gas from the surgery, but rather the fact that you are taking in so little nutrition that you may be rather weak and "ditzy" at this stage in your journey. But, only you know if you feel well enough. Best of luck!

Hi there, I have to agree with what everyone said, I like you had lots of gas and pain on my left side. but it does get much better just keep doing what you are doing. I took 2 weeks off after my surgery and if i could have taken two more I absolutley would. I have a desk job as well, I just get very tired. So if you can take more time off, I would recommend you do! Best of luck to you!!
