Good Morning.....

I agree - I like this thread.  Don't always get to it, but it's importnat that newbies see how we old-timers have progressed and see how we struggle and have to be accountable.  The surgery changes the size of the stomach, but like everything else in life....there's a loop hole and if you aren't carfeul, you will use that loop hole more often than you should.

So....here goes:

Wake up - Protein Shake made with 1/2 cup milk
Breakfast:  Yogurt and 1 pgk Kay's Naturals cereal
Snack: Sliced Strawberries
Lunch: 2.5 oz grilled salmon, 3 oz sweet potato, grilled zucchini
Snack:  Protein bar
Dinner: 2.5 oz grilled salmon, 3 oz sweet potato, frilled veggies
Snack: sugar free jello cup w/ sugar free whipped cream; Protein Shake

Confession:  1 bite of a cookie, 1 bite of a brownie

Ok Miss Jill.  I am not trying to pick on you, but more make this a discussion.  Majority of us had this surgery for vaiours reasons and wanted various results from it.  Of course on of the main goals is to eat foods that are healthier for us and make better decisions in what we eat.  As we struggle with thos trigger foods that may not be the best choices.

I see so many people who are guilty when they induldge in eating something that was not the best choice.  I personally want a healthy relationship with food.  And of course knowing my body and the way it processes food even prior to surgery, low fat and low sugar foods worked with me the best.  But I also have an impulsive side to me and when I would induldge in the not healthy food, I would over do it.  I do not want that guilty feeling of being impulsive and eating something that may not be the best choice.  So, if faced with a less healthy option, I really think long and hard what this choice means.  What are ramifications of eating this food item.  If I choose to eat it, how much am I going to allow myself to have?  (usually a bite or two)  ANd if I choose to have, I am going to accept my decision and enjoy that food item because that is the choice I made and I accept it.  I don't know if any of this makes sense and I may be wrong in my throught process.
